I love Fallen Angel Bakery. *Mostly* because of the cupcakes. But also because it’s a friendly little tea shop with lovely staff and lots of charm! I will often bring friends here for tea when they’ve come to visit, and occasionally pop in when I’m craving something sweet. They make a lovely soup here as well if you stop in for lunch. Everything quite reasonably priced for Harborne. Highly recommended, especially for tea and cake.

I adore this bakery. The interior is lovely and there is a very relaxing atmosphere. I used to walk here from Selly Oak as a student, it made a nice alternative reading spot to the library! I didn’t have any of the hot food, only cupcakes — but the selection was always great.

I was in Birmingham for work and my friend decided we needed cake! So he had this place in mind. It’s a beautiful quaint little bakery perfect for an afternoon tea. We walked in and were warmly greeted by the woman at the counter. She was eager to help and answer questions about the sweet treats they had to offer. Everything looked really yummy. My friend chose a slice of cake with vanilla frosting and I picked macarons! They are my favorite and I almost always get them. They weren’t that great but I am very hard to please when it comes to macarons. To their defense the lady at the counter was honest enough to let me know they are not made in house, I think that had a lot to do with the freshness. Overall the service, locations and the very homey décor would definitely have me come back to sample some other treats. If you are in the area stop by! It’s perfect for something sweet.

So for a long time I’ve been wanting to come to this bakery. The one in Solihull was closed down which was closes to where I live. So was quite a distance to this place and I had my expectations quite high. I was told by an employee that they use Mockingbird Bakery(London) recipe. And I have tried MB’s cakes and they’re amazing The shop is lovely and got nice interiors with art work around the walls. Was clean and lovely views on the sunny day I was there. I had orderd couple cupcakes to-go and i wanted to have tea with a slice of red velvet cake and get the experience of eating. I was disappointed with the cake as it kept fallings off and became crumbs really quickly. It didn’t stick together. Too much icing, I’m all for icing but damn that was a lot I had to scrap off some of icing. At that time I had already paid for cupcakes for take away so I knew they would be same thing. And they were. The red velvet cupcakes kept falling apart when i was eating, really annoyed me. It was a mess eating them. The Vanilla cupcake was fine except the icing was just generic. Couldn’t take vanilla, it just tasted just like greggs cupcakes. I’m not sure what happend or maybe it was bad batch but was quite dissapointed with the cakes. I travelled far for them and in the end they weren’t worth it. 2.5 stars
