Kind of pricey for the location, charging city centre prices however it is so worth it. Need somewhere just like this in the city centre although it is only one bus. The sole reason we visited was so my boyfriend could try the blackjack ice cream, however once there was decided to try some other things too. We started off with a banana, toffee, cookie dough type thing with vanilla ice cream, this was shared and cost about £5. I like to eat and I couldn’t of eaten this on my own! We has this with coffee they have a long coffee list and use a coffee that supports coffee farmers I don’t quite remember where but they don’t make a huge profit which I think is a good ethos. I had a vanilla Latte and my bf had a mexican coffee(with cinnamon) it was possibly one of the best blends of coffee I have tasted. After we had ice cream as mentioned my boyfriend had blackjack which tasted just like the sweets, I had redbull both were good. We asked and found out that they make all there ice cream so if you fancy a change and supporting an independent this is the place to go! We finished with a milkshake which had three chocolate bars mixed in, it was okay. Overall would recommend, the staff are helpful, the decoration is nice, worth travelling.

This is what I would call a diamond in the rough. I don’t want to offend Small Heath high street vendors or shoppers but that stretch of Coventry Road is mostly kebab takeaways, supermarkets and Indian sweet shops. Walking into Eis Café gave me the variety I was craving for. It’s primarily a smoothie and milkshake café but they’re not selling any old blended drinks. The menu is somewhat overwhelming but basically you can get almost any branded chocolate made into a milkshake. They have Wispa, Twirl, Crunchie, Milky Bar etc. The theme continues into the ice cream section and the cake section(the Smarties cake looked very scrumptious). In contrast to those other shake shops which have cropped up all over the place, Eis café have ‘fantasy combination shakes’ for example one with Ferrero Rocher, Kinder Bueno and Flake all together. One of their fruit and nut shakes called ‘Sahara’ was made up of dates, almonds and bananas. It was all very intriguing. I went for a Hawaiian smoothie which was very refreshing(I love anything with mango in) but maybe not as sweet as I would have liked. The guy after me chose a Jammie Dodger milkshake. They also have coffees, hot chocolates, paninis and pasta dishes. Pop in if you’re in the area.
