Dubai Express is hard to miss with its Arabic style design of lavish splendour. The name, which connotes a fast-food joint, is somewhat misleading to the design. The Middles Eastern feel continues as you’re led to your seating area, which is where it ends. I was surprised to find waiters were not available to take your order from your table, instead you’re expected to go up and place your order, where you also pay. The food counter and menu is very much that of a take-away eatery. You don’t get a taste of hearty, freshly prepared food, although you feel an expectation given the surroundings. Generally, the food is your average Arabic cuisine and is prepared quickly. The menu is vast and there is a dessert counter to tempt you just before you consider leaving. It’s a halal restaurant that’s welcoming for the entire family.

To my surprise this place has not been listed, so i thought i would add it since it deserves it… Well where can i start with Dubai Express??? I think the first thing people will acknowledge about this place is it stands out well from the rest of the buildings on coventry road, with its yellow brick built construction with large windows, awnings and outside seating. It certainly gives a positive outset from looking. This indeed is carried to the inside as well, with a nice modern yet middle eastern décor which certainly would be to the majority of peoples taste. ive been here a few times now simply because the food is to my taste, the service is nice and relaxing and i feel it is reasonably priced considering the more cheaper options which is so easibly available on the coventry road, yet the quality is also consistant. As i say there is plenty to choose from, mainly grilled which is tasty and healthy, portion size is good as well. I usually go for the fillet steak(its not a fillet as mentioned on the menu, its sirloin as when ive ordered) which is always nice when cooked on the grill and accompanied well with the salad. £9.99 is a good price. There are similar places such as abu zayd which is very good however dubai express has more of a restaurant feel where as abu zayd has more of a fast food atmosphere. the only reason i would not give it 5⁄5 is becuase of a grumpy old man who is apparently one of the owners, to be honest they should get rid of him becuase either hes got a disability for not smilling or hes just a grumpy old man whose rude. the other staff are brilliant, if it was not for them i would probably not have returned.
