Popped in last weekend during the chinese celebrations to try some of this bubble tea everyone have been going on about. Ended up having some food aswel. Venue is quite small but plently of space. Service was quick and food arrived within minutes. Melon bubble tea cold. Not sure what all the fuss is about but tasted very fruity just not sure about the jelly balls at the bottom. Food 34a chilli pepper chicken with fried rice was lush. Ideal for quick lunch time snack

This is based in the Arcadian in Chinatown in Birmingham. It’s right in the city centre and is a really nice place. We done a quick take away as we were restricted time wise. The food was really nice and tasted very authentic. We were all quite pleased with the food. If I’m back in the area I would come back.

There are two Café Soya nearby. This is the smaller of the two. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. Good selection of Vietnamese food, which is also tasty and fulling. Its easy too order too much but you can take it away if the case. Cash only.

The original and still the best(compared to its bigger, super slow sister restaurant around the corner). The food is fine, and fast. Big selection of noodles, rice n sides. Lunch for two(2 x mains, 2 x sides, 2 x soft drinks) £25. It’s closed on Wednesdays, and it’s cash only.

What a lovely little gem! I am so upset that I only found this place weeks beforeleaving Birmingham for London. the arcadian it’s self is an amazing versatile area that is great for a relaxing drink of Chinese origin, a milkshake a cocktail in one of the many bars, shopping and most importantly Eating! Café Soya can be summed uo in one word! AUTHENTIC. The food is not English Chinese it is authentic Chinese and the food is healthier and clearer than all other takeaways and fast food joint The food The food is great. Not the greatest choice in the world but because of this they are able to kepp the food fresh and clean and perfect. The drinks For Me this place is perfect as I am lactose intolerant they were able to meet all of my needs and urged me to try the soya and red been shake fusion which was a totally different tastes than I had ever tried before but it was great very sweat though. If you need any more information about this feel free to personal message me

This small branch of Café Soya in the arcadian is fantastic. A real hole in the wall, cash only, and a bit of a tight squeeze, but oh man does the food deliver. Fantastic value for money, and just really incredible vietnamese and chinese fusion cuisine. If you go with a group, it’s a good deal to order a platter of starters and get a little bit of everything– dumplings, steam rolls, spring rolls, and prawns on toast. Their prawn toast is really fabulous. The main course portions are enormous. The bowls of soup noodles(which really have a great depth of flavour) seem to stay full no matter how much you eat from them. They have a lot of veggie options on offer if you are a vegetarian. If you’re not a vegetarian, try the pork steam pancake rolls! Yum. Staff are very friendly and service is really quick.

This is the smaller and, arguably more atmospheric, Arcadian branch of Café Soya. There are barely 10 tables and you’ll often find people sharing tables with strangers. Chinese Quarter locals mix with intrepid students in this tiny café. They tuck into steaming bowls of wonton soup, huge plates of spicy Singapore noodles and delicious tofu stir fries. Service is super quick and friendly. The lunchtime menu offers excellent value: a drink, main course and dessert for just £5.95. It is unlicensed and only accepts cash payments.

I love Café Soya. LOVE. In a desolate expanse of restaurants that think vegetarian must equal salad or cheese, sits Café Soya. And there they sit, not JUST serving vegetables, but also their own delicious fake meats. And their separate vegetarian menu. Not only does it make me feel special, but actually looked after. Hooray! Their Steamed Spring Rolls are to die for — especially dipped in the spicy dressing, and their fake beef is pretty authentic. but with no animals harmed in the making! They also have a MASSIVE menu catering to anyone who –does– eat meat, which is handy as my other half is a ravenous omnivore who liked his meat rare. Did I mention I LOVE this place? Only reason it gets 4 out of 5 is because even though they’re a pretty big place — when it starts to fill up, the service can be a bit hit and miss and quite slow. But the food is always so lovely, I’m happy to wait! Just don’t go in a hurry.

you can always count on the little café’s for good food for value. the décor and atmosphere is very typical cantonese café style. it’s comforting to see not 1 but 2 of these in the city center knowing there’s cheap chinese food around the corner. nice selection for lunch as it’s around 6 quid a meal.

Like most Birmingham residents, I often find myself near the Bullring, having done a credit-card-crunching shopping marathon, or about to see a show at the Hippodrome, and in need of grub. Café Soya is near Chinatown, located in the Arcadian Centre, and is one in a row of small, cute Chinese/Asian holes-in-the-wall. If you love Chinese food, and you love it fast and fresh, Café Soya is an excellent eat. My husband and I often venture in for a quick bite pre– or post-Brum activity. Customers enter, see a counter and about ten tables, and adorable, hand-written chalk specials boards. Café Soya often do dinner and lunch offers, and are very economical. We usually roll away from the table stuffed full of fantastic, culinary delights for about £10 for two. Though the service is fast and prompt, the food is mostly freshly prepared, so don’t expect to be eating in less than 10 minutes. Also, similar to Wagamama’s, the diners’ dishes can come out at separate times(only a few minutes in between). The menu is extensive, and in the 10 or so times we’ve been there, we’ve barely cracked the surface. They also offer items not often seen on a traditional takeaway menu. The hubby’s favourites is the Peking Duck and spring rolls, and mine is the Bean Curd with Chinese Vegetables. Tables are sturdy metal and plain, and service is without flourish. If you’re looking for tremendous ambience, this isn’t the place. But if you’re after fast, delicious Chinese food prepared after you order, Café Soya should do you just fine.
