This is a nice café. It has classy wooden tables and retro style lighting. The cake was good and tasty but quite expensive. A good little café. I would advise you pay a visit!

This place is amazing! I’ve been wanting to give it a try for a while! The food here is fresh and the staff are so lovely and friendly. I went for breakfast and it was so delicious! My only two issues are that the place is a bit small and pricy.

Boo Boo is a great little coffee hangout the counter like most boutique coffee shops are laded with deliciously tempting cakes and treats. the shop itself seats around 20 – 30 people full capacity with some outdoor seating too. As well as the usual coffee and tea offerings, it provides a good range of other drinks such as smoothies and gym post workout shakes for gym goers from the fitness centre opposite. Another good point it that it offers free WIFI so its a good spot to get some coffee and get some work done. i had an Americano and my friend had a flat white which came to just under £5.00 which is very reasonable. The coffee was hot and strong just how i like it. The shop has a great design and i love the chilled relaxed vibe, a fantastic addition to Harborne growing independent scene.

I don’t know how I’ve been living in Harborne for nearly two years, and have only visited Boo Boo Coffee for the first time today! The coffee is outstanding. It actually really is the best coffee I’ve had in Birmingham, and I love my coffee. They make it strong, and the latte art is on point. Really nice place with free wifi to sit and get work done, with incredibly friendly staff. It’s just a really casual, welcoming place. I will be dropping by for coffee on a regular basis now!

This is a short review as not can much more be said. Cake is awesome. Beer is awesome. Service was lovely. Bathrooms are nice. Prices are good. Outside seating. Latte art is perfect. Go for a visit … It worth the walk and the treat is worth it. If you don’t like it I buy you a beer

Boo Boo is a great little coffee shop conveniently located close to the Harborne gym just off the very end of the high street. It’s got a cool coffee shop vibe with lots of wood and the odd cosy chair. I’m a sucker for that stuff. It does lots of lovely cakes, breakfasts etc but what I like most are the salads– the superfood salad with chicken is really nice. Being by the gym they also do a range of smoothies designed for all your post(or pre) exercise needs. I came here after a boot camp once and the superfood salad plus a banana, oats, milk and protein smoothie was a great way to recharge. I can’t speak for the coffee, but loose leaf tea is available so that always gets a thumbs up from me. They’re also open early, so I’ll be checking it out for a breakfast before work someday soon!

Breakfast Review: This is a coffee shop. That’s important. Boo Boo Coffee is just off the high street in Harbourne. I went there to try out their breakfast and meet up with a friend. The first thing I noticed was that it was a really cool place. The second this is that its a seriously keen coffee house. I know that because when I got there, the owner/manager asked if I wanted to try their new blend of coffee that they wanted to enter into a competition. The 2 guys were very excited about it — their passion was very much evident. I ordered the Full English, it took a bit of time to arrive. Eventually, it turned up in the seeming necessary enamelled tin dish. Being honest, it was very sloppily presented and it all seemed to meld into itself,(dishes are not really suited to breakfasts). They didn’t serve sausage as they didn’t have an extractor, so I suppose it was pretty impressive that I got anything? As I said, this is a coffee shop. Something that they seem to do very well indeed. I would gladly go back for a coffee, but perhaps not for breakfast.

I liked Boo Boo Coffee but I feel it can up its game in a number of ways. But even saying that, when I went in mid afternoon, not normally a time when the cash register rings too often, it was still busy and so it may be yet another case of why bother? Horses for courses innit! Firstly, it felt a little grubby. The décor is such that it’s going to be very difficult to clean consistently well. There is stuff everywhere and a royal hodge podge of furniture placed through the left centre of the space, with nice bar to the right and a high stool(for grown ups) area by the right window. All this dishevelment will be horrible to clean every day. I’m not fussy but I noticed right away. A bit tired. Second, the food offering is pretty wide in the usual variations on themes coffee shop kinda way, but I can’t say my Scone with butter and jam was anything to write home about. Distinctly average and the butter tasted like it had been out of the fridge, or maybe past the sell by date. The jam I didn’t fancy at all. The knife was also greasy, seemingly barely washed, and fingerprint marked. Would be very easy to discover who committed that crime! But it was changed for a clean one with no fuss at all. The well thumbed and curled menu pages show a mild bias towards ‘healthy’ … maybe predictable given the hideous looking and very new leisure centre right opposite. Pricing is fine, way more competitive than some other places around the city … but I’d rather better quality and more attention to cleaning to be honest. The coffee was good enough tho nothing special when assessed against the now stiff competition in Birmingham. The wifi code is ‘bestcoffeeinbrum’ but I’m afraid not today. I can make better at home. It’s about on par with say Urban Coffee, so at least drinkable but behind any of my current top Brum places(see my top five list). I know their blend well. It’s Redchurch from Allpress in London, so a great starting point at least. What a change, I’m happy to offer some free kudos there! I actually placed Redchurch in my top three blends UK wide a couple of years ago … and that from around 30+ blends and single origins/estates I had as guest in my own shop that year. At BooBoo the blend comes nowhere near what it’s capable of, tho’ I recognise the component beans of two years ago would be different. All in I’d say a wasted opportunity to shin over ‘the usual suspects’ in the city. More kudos coming now … but what really stood out for me was the attitude of one guy serving, a guy with a beard(hasn’t every male barista got one tho!!): he was attentive to each customer, a quick worker, polite and concerned to make people feel welcomed, even opening the door for a couple of people. It was quite busy too. That’s gold dust in the barista fraternity and all credit to him. Maybe he’s the owner — he acted like he cared. It was a mixed crowd of punters … I guess mainly Harborne locals, tho I also seemed to recognise a couple of faces from around the city, but not sure exactly from where! Everyone seemed content, the music was fine, just wallpaper adding not much to the place, and the overall feel was friendly. The wifi didn’t work which was a royal PITA! So a mixed bag yet again in coffee shop world. Friendly, accessible and clearly keeping head above water, but in need of a bit of spit and polish and some attention to standards(at least to me). Your mileage may vary, as ever!

As you might be able to tell from my check in’s and reviews, I’m a big fan of coffee. I love to work from coffee houses all over Birmingham in an attempt to broaden my horizons and support all these lovely independent offerings which have popped up over the City. Boo Boo Coffee was bought to my attention by Manoj K. No sooner had he stepped foot in the place than I got a message saying something along the lines of «You MUST go here». On my exploratory visit into Harborne this week, I put a message out on Social Media. Where would the Tweeters, IGers and Unilocalers go in Harborne if they were looking for a good pot of tea or a mug of the java filled goodness? This place was recommended to me many, many times… So off I popped. Although it is situated off Harborne High Street, it’s further down the main stretch than many of the other offerings. From the main point of the street(by the School Yard), it’s around a 10 minute walk(past Sabai Sabai and opposite Harborne Pool and Fitness Centre). Harborne isn’t somewhere I go regularly, so I put trust in my handy Unilocal app and off I went. Once you see the beautiful shiny goodness of Harborne pool, it’s hard to miss. With its dark wooden exterior and«shabby chic» vibe, it definitely looked like the kind of Hipster haven I would love. Inside it’s cosy, welcoming and in fitting with the design you would expect once laying eyes on the signage outside. It’s got a counter area(loaded with delicious looking cakes), seating for around 20 odd people and a really cute kids play area(with a soft floor and a few toys to keep the little ones occupied). As well as the usual coffee and tea offerings, it provides a good range of smoothies too(including protein packed ones to cater for the gym bunnies coming in from over the road post workout). It offers quite good free WiFi too, so it’s a good spot to get some work done. I opted for a black Americano and was offered an extra shot for 25p. How could I say no to that? The coffee was fresh, hot and strong enough to keep me buzzing for a couple of hours. With it’s chilled out vibe, great looking design and fantastic drinks offering; I can definitely see why this place is a Harborne hotspot. Again, I don’t get down to this part of the City very often, but next time I’m here I’m popping in to Boo Boo coffee again to get my fix.

Great coffee, excellent playlist, free wifi, funky interior, super fresh food(I had the poached eggs and avocado on fresh toasted muffins), friendly staff. A great place for brunch with friends, or for a solo chill with the papers.

Harborne, very lately has had an influx of places where you can get a coffee, but Boo Boo really stands out for me. Located right opposite the swimming baths and gym, I always end up having a brew before a gym session. Being this side of Harborne, works to Boo Boo’s advantage as you don’t have to take a walk down the High Street which can seem like a mammoth task on a Sunday morning! Every time I have been in, it has been very busy. With a couple of outside tables and a massive window, it’s great when the sun is shining on us. The Coffee is most excellent because they use Allpress espresso beans from London which gives their drinks a massive edge over most places some places in Birmingham. Single origin is offered though a Chemex, another brew method not often seen in the second city. If Coffee and Tea isn’t your bag then I can recommend one of the many smothies they offer, which can have protein added to them. Boo Boo coffee is very family friendly and you can pop your little ones in the play area they provide. This place has been come a favourite place of mine to have some alone time or catch up with friends. Sure you will love it!
