Beetham Tower

The vast blue Radisson building is known to the vast majority of Birmingham residents, but not all of them realise that it’s not just a hotel, the building also contains a great many flats. I was lucky enough to live in one of the flats for a month or so over the summer last year on the 28^th floor, and let me tell you gentle reader, the view from that level is undoubtedly fab — I’ve got no idea how far you can see on a clear day but it’s more than enough to make Birmingham seem a lot more glamorous than it really is!
The apartment I was staying in was small but compact, with plenty of storage space tastefully hidden away in the walls. I enjoyed how close to hand everything was, and the view makes the flat seem bigger. The major drawback of course is going to be price — living in a building like this is never going to come cheap whether you rent or buy, though with a plethora of property agents offering flats for sale or rent and with the market currently at quite a low ebb, you may be able to find a relative bargain.
The staff that run the building seem good, and discreet when necessary. I personally wouldn’t put myself in debt to live here, but I’d say that it’s the nicest apartment block of it’s kind that I’ve been in, and the access to central Birmingham’s many delights is perfect. Whether or not the price is right is up to you.
