One of the first place I ever ate in Birmingham. Been back many times since and always had a great experience. So surprised to see this ranked so lowly down the list as its won many prestigious rewards in Brum and is often Michelin recommended. One of the better Indian restaurants your going to find in Birmingham so deserves much higher rankings.

Had a great team lunch here just before Christmas. The restaurant is actually quite big, but it was also quite full when we went. Nevertheless the service was fairly quick(though we had to ask for water several times). The menu isn’t large, but this is a good thing a think! They do a deal called ‘curry in a hurry’ which is popadoms, curry and rice and drink for a set price that arrives within a shorter time frame than other dishes-great for working lunches. The food was really light too and not horrible and heavy as some cirrus can be. I’d like to try it again, maybe in the evening for a change, as the darker lighting and décor lends itself more that way.

For £16 for starter, main and drink at lunch, it’s pretty impressive what they turn out! The panneer is some of the nicest I’ve ever tried, and the mixed tandoori grill is inauthentic, but so well seasoned it’s absolutely delicious. My only problem is that it’s so near the business district you end up having to share your lunch with some of the arseholery of big business monkeys… but that’s not the restaurants fault, and nothing a good recession can’t fix.

I’ve been here before. Was It called Asha’s? It was a bar for ages that I fail to remember the name of. I’ve a feeling the bar was called Pals? I’ve had lunch here before. No idea when and what I had but It could have been anytime over the last 10 years. Anyway. Curry. I don’t get to go for Indian food nearly enough. So I was really up for a lunch curry. I went for the chicken curry which was pretty mild really though I’m sure they would have made it hotter had I asked. It was really nice! I prefer local curry houses really to big city centre venues but this was nice and personable. This is a modern restaurant with some private dining areas should you have a party with you. Book in advance in the evening especially on Friday nights.
