I am a big curry fan and really enjoyed my recent visit to the restaurant. The food was excellent, and the place was nearly full at 8.30 — my brother and I had quite a long wait for our meals but it was really busy and certainly worth the wait. Recommended.

I am a fan of Indian food and really loved this place. I went to an organised meal, and there were about 30 of us, sat on a long table upstairs. The service was efficient(for the number) and friendly too. You can take your own alcoholic drinks along, and they were very happy to supply jugs of water. Excellent value for money and VERY tasty food. I will definitely go there again!

This was the second restaurant that I stopped at on my visit to the Balti Triangle. I was started off with what can be best described to Westerners as a giant pop chip and a raw onion salad. Here I tired the fish pekora. The crust was seasoned well; it was a unique flavor but not one that over-powered the fish. I also tried the fish pekora with the chili and the yogurt sauce; both were exceptional. I would not hesitate to return for a full meal. The staff has attentive and friendly; my server was willing to offer other recommendations for what I could do on Ladypool Road.

I really liked this place — like a lot of other curry houses on the Ladypool Road(or the Balti Triangle if you prefer) this boasts ‘the best Balti in Birmingham’. Certainly their credentials are impressive — they’ve been nominated for a number of awards and The Telegraph recently wrote an amazingly effusive piece on the food here. We went on a Friday night — it was pretty packed — which is always a good sign, but the staff were nice even when some of our party got lost and we took up loads of space at reception. Once we’d regrouped we sat down for a pretty decent meal — I read somewhere that they use low fat oil rather than ghee so even though I went for a starter, a massive Nan and a hefty main course meal I felt that it was okay(this, despite the fact I am meant to be on a diet — oops) The starter and Nan in particular were tasty and the waiting staff were very charming. I also liked the way we were guided to a car park on entering the Ladypool Road — I’m not sure if this was just a local chap being helpful or whether he’s paid by the local restaurants — either way it was a nice start to what turned out to be a very pleasant evening.

Decent curry house, not overly expensive(whilst not as reasonable as some). I had the afrodesia which was unusual and delicious. A lack of organisation from the waiters let the place down but to be fair they squeezed us in when they were clearly busy so can’t really complain.

Overall a good experience, the staff are good, you can take your own drinks in and fairly modern restaurant. Why only 3 stars? Well, as you probably know by now, I prefer a madras curry even if its not on the menu, I always request for a madras. So, I requested a madras king prawn, what I got was a balti king prawn not a madras! The curry was OK, but it wasn’t a madras. The nan was awesome however it place is slightly more pricey compare to the other restaurants on the Balti triangle. If your after a balti dish then give this place a try. If your after a madras then Popular restaurant further down the road is the place to be.
