The installation went well and the company was efficient, although we did have an issue with the Geo Solo display dropping the signal constantly that took several months to sort out(eventually we called the Geo company and they were able to talk us through it the instruction manual was incorrect!). The sales person was lovely, but overestimated the number of panels we could fit on the roof, so the system had to be downsized before installation which was disappointing. Electricity was generated immediately after the install and we were pleased with the system. We were given a 10 year insurance backed guarantee certificate, premium paid for by GREEN Ltd. Unfortunately a year later when we had some work done on the adjacent roof in wet weather, the roofers got several electric shocks from the wet tiles and from the bricks on the chimney which was being repointed. On trying to get hold of GREEN Ltd, we found they had ceased trading. The mobile number of the electrician who had done the roof installation was not working. An investigation by the electrician who had done the internal work showed that 26v of current was running through the metal bars holding the panels, indicating either a loose connector or a pinched cable somewhere that must have happened during installation. The rain had picked this current up and it was running across the surface moisture on the roof, causing shocks to the roofers. We have now contacted Guarantee Protection Insurance Ltd insurers to make a claim so that the fault can be corrected. However the worrying thing is they could not find us on their system. So not really sure if we have actually been insured by GREEN Ltd or not.
