Situated at one end of the High Street (A702) close to the old gasworks (now a museum).A typical «local» serving pub grub. Selection of keg beers and lagers available (John Smith/​Mckewans etc).Staff friendly and helpful. The service was not the speediest because in keeping with most small pubs the barman and waiter were the same person. The menu was small but varied and very competitively priced. The food was nicely presented, hot and the portion sizes large. All meals arrived at the table together so there was no waiting. All in all, a value for money lunchtime stop off.
