Not a good experience at this restaurant Sunday evening. Not a warm welcome food very average no Greek or Turkish Bread? Couldn’t be bothered. Don’t know why they bothered to open. Won’t be going back!

Hi, ate at Old Bexley Greek Taverna last night, a nice surprise. Friendly welcome, not very busy but then they are resurfacing the High Street so no traffic allowed through! Good service, good choice on the menu, I went for my favourites of cdolmadakia starters followed by lamb kleftiko very tasty and washed down with a couple of glasses of house red. Service attentive but not overpowering, nice to see what were obviously regulars eating here, reasonable price, including tip £25. A nice touch was what I assume the owner, walked a lady and her two daughters up to where a taxi could pick them up, remember the High Street was closed. Will return.

Old Bexley Greek Taverna is a good quality neighbourhood restaurant. During our visit on a Thursday evening, we found the service to be prompt and polite, and the food very nice. For our table of four, we ordered an entre each, followed by a main, along with drinks and coffee afterwards. The mains were huge so couple of us were unable to finish them. I’d recommend the chicken souvlaki or rump steak if you’re hungry. I’d definately return for another meal if I were in the area.

This is one of the more consistently good restaurants(or rather tavernas) in this area. we have been there frequently for ten years or more but much less of recent because we moved out of the area. on a recent visit, we found it was still to the same standard and good value. the kitchen is open, so you can see the cleanliness and what is being cooked. there is a good atmosphere, but it is a bit cramped and gets noisy when busy, especially if there is a group of schoolteachers or the like enjoying a meal. You would have to travel far to find more authentic greek style food in south east london/NW Kent. the souvlaki, kleftiko, numerous hot and cold starters are all delicious and are good helpings. we have always found the staff to be polit, attentive and friendly. they did not charge a service charge when we last went but the old menu declaring«there ain’t no service charge cos there ain’t no service» had been replaced.

An old family favourite that never disappoints. Ideal for a slightly alternative Sunday lunch(the kleftiko ideally!). The range of starters and mains is considerable so plenty of opportunity to try lots of new things and rarely room for dessert.

I visited this restaurant two months ago, having not been there for some time. The food was, as I remembered, excellent. It was a Wednesday evening and was pretty busy. Inside it does feel a little old fashioned but the ambience is good. The one drawback I found was that they gave us a tiny table, and we ordered the meze, there were many dishes and really not enough room on the table to fit them all! There was so much food that we ended up taking the final meat course home with us, which they packed away nicely and added some salad. Prices were about average. The service was great, the food was lovely and I was very impressed. I just would have liked to have had a bigger table!
