My husband, being of Beverley stock, has always recommended this restaurant to me as the best Indian in Beverley but I never sampled it myself until this year. And he was right! It’s a very basic restaurant in terms of layout and décor, and quite functional in appearance, but the food is something else. I had possibly the nicest vegetarian curry I’ve ever eaten (even my carnivore hubby was tempted by it), and we also had a bottle of the house wine which was well priced and very drinkable.
The Akash is tucked away upstairs (opposite Oxfam!) and it’s not heavily advertised — I’d never have noticed it if I didn’t have my husband to point it out, so I suspect it’s a secret that Beverley people keep to themselves. Definitely give it a try

Akash is an Indian restaurant situated up a staircase, accessible from Toll Gavel. It is easy to miss if you have not been there before.
I have had some splendid meals there. The service is effusively friendly and if you are ordering a takeaway, they will even offer to carry the food to your car for you. Prices are reasonable and there is a wide range of specials on the menu.
