Good Date

Food is excellent! Things have changed a lot with the help of old kitchen and management staff. Steak excellent and curry back to previous best!

The Good Date is a lovely Chinese restaurant and take away. The food is generally of a high quality, particularly the curry dishes. The restaurant does cater for vegetarians, however it appears they count dishes as vegetarian as long as they don’t contain chunks of meat. One of the staff told me most of their vegetarian dishes do include meat products (eg, animal fat).
The Good Date does cheap (around £5) business lunches Monday to Friday, although for some reason it doesn’t open on a Saturday. These three course lunches are very filling, with the starter and main course both very large. The desert (an apple pie, ice cream or a banana fritter) are quite small, but most people tend not to have room left for a desert anyway!
