One of the town centre cafes that seems to have ‘got it right’. By that I mean it’s providing all the usual things people want from a café and putting its own spin on it so people know they are getting something unique from it. The Lounge Café(not mad on that name) has some very funky décor and the whole place exudes an air of not trying too hard which is important for a place like this. Thankfully the staff and chef are obviously trying very hard as both the service and Panini I had in here were spot on. Even though the room is a tiny bit dark I was impressed to actually see some plants in the café, one thing I think immediately makes a bit difference to any shop/resto/café. As I said the service was great and even though it was busy that day, the staff didn’t seem in the slightest bit flustered. Do visit. Pros: Lovely food, cool interior. Cons: Might be hard for folk to find.

The Lounge Café is an individual small café with an old school charm of its own. It looks a little dingy from outside but in fact it’s cosy and quite welcoming. There is an extensive lunch menu that ranges from Paninis, sandwiches and bagels to home made soup, stew, lasagne, quiches and steak sandwiches. The extent of the coffee permutations on offer was also impressive especially for the inclusion of coffee affogato — that’s with a shot of liqueur. Plenty of herbal teas too which gives, somehow, a pleasing continental European feel.

A great wee café in Belfast which serves up the usual tea, coffee, wraps, sarni’s and paninis. I really love their paninis and they do a mean latte. The priced are fairly average for Belfast and it really is what you see is what you get. I love the rock vibe of the place and the seats are really comfy. I called in one day to escape the rain(again) and was greeted by friendly staff and the fab smell of brewing coffee. It reminded me of the coffee shops in Germany… delish! The paninis were well cooked, well filled and went down well! Definatily worth a visit to rest your feet and fill up for the duration of your reatil therapy!
