Childhood memories of an old fashioned sweet shop I used to know which had since closed down came back to me in this little shop, where there’s hardly room for two people to pass each other in front of the counter. A shelf along the wall is lined with jars of every variety of traditional sweet you could imagine sold in quarter pound bags for 80p each which competes well enough with the usual packaged up retail stuff. All the old favourites — lemon bonbons, bulls eyes, humbugs and pear drops just to name a few are present, along with the usual chocolate bars, crisps and sweet drinks.
