Tesco Extra

This Tesco seems to have everything you could want from a supermarket. Good size of electrical range, clothing, off liscence, bakery and of course groceries. Its open 24 hours which is a plus, which I have had to make use of a number of times due to shopping emergencies etc.
The only reason I did not give it a 5 Star is because when you do make use of the 24 hour service, some of the Isles are closed off with the staff replenishing stock levels which can be quite annoying especially if you are after something in particular.
The store has a scan as shop service which is really convenient, you scan the items as you shop, place them into your bags in the trolley then pay for everything at the end of your shop! There is also a 24 hour garage at the Tesco which again comes in handy.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this Tesco store before, I go all the time. Not the most glamorous review but here goes, hopefully it will useful.
First up — this Tesco store isn’t 24 hours, don’t be caught out! It does have extended opening hour but it’s definitely not open all the time. The car park is huge and there’s a bottle bank and recycling point right at the back — a handy place to get rid of those post party bottles.
The shop itself is huge. They have a Timpsons locksmiths at the entrance so if you need to get a key cut or a shoe mended you can leave it in here and pick it up when you’ve done your shop. There’s also an optician at the back of the store so if you are confusing potatoes and tomatoes I’d pop in here for a check up. A recent addition to this store is the home ware and electronics department which pretty much covers every area.
The only thing holding this store back is the lack of manned check outs. They seem to have invested heavily in self service areas but the problem is that most people come here for a big shop and not a few bits therefore rendering these useless as no one wants to stand and scan 1 million items.
Really convenient store with loads of wee extras to make life a bit simpler — A-​OK!

Whilst my overall impressions of the store have not changed, could the management at Tesco please, please, for God’s sake please, put some more checkout staff on the tills on a Saturday afternoon? The queue for the self service tills was at least 20 deep and as usual, one of the two tills that you can buy alcohol at was broken, which as most of the people in the queue were carrying a bottle of something was not good news, even the queues at the regular tills were three or four deep, whilst a good number of tills were unmanned. Also, could you make the self service tills 10 items or less, people trying to do a full shop and the resultant «unexpected item in the bagging area» cries from the till, are wearing to say the least!
I know Tesco are probably trying to save money on staff, but the money they lost from people setting goods down and walking out in the 15 or so minutes I was queued for would have paid for a staff member for a full hour, the only reason I didn’t walk was my favourite Crabbies isn’t available in the local offies.
On other minor gripe, I have a Tesco vacumn cleaner, but you cannot buy the bags in Tesco, even a huge store like this, only order them off the internet, a minor PITA but worth mentioning anyway!

Great store with large carpark, great customer services, nice customer café, store is always lovely and bright, aisles are nice and wide, apart from at nighttime around 10 oclock when the delivery seems to come in and all the cages are wheeled out into them blocking view of the shelves etc. Could do with a few more staff at times.

This fuel station differs slightly from most, in that you can pay for fuel at the pump using a credit/​debit card. This is commonplace in many garages/​filling stations in the U.S. and Canada, but not here. This is the first one I’ve seen here anyway. How handy is that?

Currently undergoing an extension so it is a bit of a mess at the moment.
However this store is one of Tesco’s keynote stores in NI.
Large food and home departments with lots to offer.
Standard supermarket café and the staff are pretty good.
Good for all the basics

Great choice and good customer service. Soon to improve with opticans and chemist
