it’s a shame that the food wasn’t as wonderful as the service. the wok fried udon with mixed seafood was nicely cooked, but terribly under-spiced, coming off on the bland side of things. same story with the udon with king prawn. perhaps the person manning the wok just had an off night, but with so many wonderful local options, i don’t think i’ll be frequenting this place.

Wow… this is a pretty swanky looking place for an eaterie on a student campus. Immaculately clean and with high glass windows running the length of the restaurant and light by lots of red lanterns it was a very pleasant eating environment. Strangely the place was completely deserted when we arrived for a late lunch. I know it’s out of term time but it was weird to have such a big room all to ourselves. We soon got over our nerves with a couple of drinks and set about examining the menu. The gist was Chinese and there was a mouth watering sounding selection of noodle and rice dishes. Where to start? As always I started with the hot and sour soup and then a main of Udon noodles and king prawn. The food arrived promptly and the very pleasant Chinese waiting staff made sure we were well attended to over the meal. My main was excellent, perfectly fresh and great flavours. I know it might not be the most obvious place to go looking for noodles in a university reception hall but go on you will be well rewarded, Pros: Nice décor, reasonable pricing. Cons: It was very quiet.

I used to go here when I worked down the road from the Art College, and I have to say I was a fan. The only reason I haven’t given it 4 stars is because I always found it to be quite expensive for what it was. We used to go in a big group from work and the service was always spot on. A lot of the staff don’t have very good English, but despite this, I can’t remember very many errors in orders. The food is of a slightly better quality that a take-away, but not quite proper restaurant standard, so all in all, it’s pretty perfect for a Friday lunchtime!
