Startuts — I got sent an email about BOGOF beverages. The guy behind the till knew nothing off it. The service wasn’t great, with the barista serving the beverages having a poor attitude — clearly she was upset that the 1 day the sun shines in Belfast, she was working. The server didn’t ask for names, which was a shame as I love giving my Starbucks alias«Glenda». Not to mention this would have helped the lost and confused elderly man work out what drinks were his. Also I witnessed a pretty upset fella wrestle with the card reader as he was told the coffee grinder in this coffee shop was broken. He instantly demanded a refund. Drinks were about the only good thing here. I would recommend walking the 50 meters around the corner and going to the Starbucks opposite Dunnes for a stellar experience

Disappointing experience here on 23 July 2015. Not for the first time I got the feeling that the customer is of secondary importance here. Staff continually chat among themselves rather than engaging with the customer and I had to repeat my order to the barista as he was too busy joking with his mate behind the till to hear the order correctly the first time. The scanner beside the till wasn’t working and I was forced to pay with cash rather than my Starbucks card. I noted the other scanner beside the other till was working but the barista didn’t want to move the transaction to the other till. Coffee was weak and bland. I like Starbucks but this branch delivers very poor customer service.

As with all Starbucks — this café is very good. They dominate the coffee market because they do what they do very well. Probably the largest Starbucks in Belfast, spread over two floors and right in the heart of the city. Fresh, clean, bright with great coffee and a large selection of sandwiches, salad boxes and sweet things. Free wifi which requires no password. Good spot but can sometimes be very busy…

although i really like the coffee and the hot chocolate. I have to say i am always a little disappointed with the food both sweet and savoury. And the price is way to steep. I can;t stand the marketing of their products as you wait in the queue — who wants a mug at triple the price of a normal one??? Not the place for me. Although it does have some good points — like its one coffee shop you are able to get wifi in with no problems. Also the meeting area is great of staff breakfast meetings or catching up with a big group of friends.

This is a great Starbucks — they have a really nice shelf of gifts and presents beside the counter(marketing, I know, but it still keeps you occupied while you wait for your drinks). Last christmas I was looking for the ginger coffee syrup and they had none on the shelf, so the girl looked in the store room, then went upstairs and looked in another store room — she eventually came downstairs with two boxes which she opened and one of them was right — most stores just say they have run out but i thought the service was good there. Also, this is right in the centre of town and is a great meeting place, either intentionally or accidentally — a very social shop, unlike some starbucks which are full of business people who don’t talk. Downside — the road works outside which have been going on for months — this is a pain. On the whole, a good branch in my opinion.
