We had a lovely night in Sopranos last night. My fiancé is a bit of a money saving champion — he got a coupon from and we got 212inch pizzas, a garlic potatoes and a large salad for… wait for it folks! — Seven blooming quid — £7.00! UNBELIEVABLE! The food was gorgeous and I love the fake stone walls, the ivy, the liquor licence, the homage to The Sopranos(one of my favourite shows ever!) We had to wait for forty minutes for our food and the car park is abit pointless as it only fits 2 cars but these two tiny niggles are out weighted by the bargain we got and the lovely friendly staff. After a couple of vodka and diet cokes I wanted to ask the waitress if she wanted to come to the bar with us — she seemed like some craic!

Soprano’s took over from one of my favourite restaurant’s situated in the same building so it had a big reputation to live up to in my ever judging eyes. Now I’ve not been here for dinner service but I have been here for lunch. They do have quite good offers such as a two course lunch for around £6/7 which isn’t bad at all and the food isn’t bad either. My little niggle with this place is the same little niggle I have with a lot of restaurants at lunch times. It’s situated in an area where there won’t be a lot of business men out for a bite or any big buildings where people will come flooding out and fill the seats, so it is a quiet place. Too quiet. When we sat down to eat, you almost feel like you need to whisper it’s so quiet. Everything you say will be completely audible to the 4⁄5 other people eating in the quite large restaurant as well as the staff and this always manages to make me feel awkward. I’ve no top secret knowledge to pass on, but I would like to have a private conversation, not perform a public address whilst eating my pizza!

Sopranos is great. I really like it — and I know it isn’t a fancy restaurant in the city centre, with an amazing view, or a gorgeous selection of wines, but it isn’t pertaining to be that — it’s a local, down to earth eatery, with a great selection of food, from pizza to grill items, burgers and sandwiches, and any time I’ve eaten here it’s been good. The food always arrives on time, the staff are good honest nice people who are happy to help, and nothing is too much trouble. It’s kind of got a «Goodfellas» vibe, with exposed brick and a vaguely Italian feel, but it’s handy to my local area, and you can park pretty easily outside. The pizzas are the best thing about the whole place; I would take anyone here if they just wanted some good honest food.

An Italian-esqe restaurant in North Belfast makes you an offer than you can’t refuse. Well on Tuesday Steak nights with 2 steaks, sides and a bottle of house wine for around £30 makes for a reasonably priced evening. Despite the faux interior, service was friendly and fast. Good for quick bite if you are local.
