Semi-Chem

I’m never quite sure what to make of this shop. It is a slightly cheaper version of Boots, as is Superdrug, but it doesn’t have the ‘professional’ feel to it that the other two stores do. It seems a bit like a Spar or a Mace that specialises in cosmetics, rather than a specifically designed cosmetics shop.
Though I do come here regularly, it seems a bit of a mis-​match of a shop. I like it. Well at least I think I do. It has some great offers on perfume, both men’s and women’s. And in the run up to Christmas, it has a number of really decent, really competitively priced box sets which make excellent presents for your loved ones. But on the whole of it, this place doesn’t really strike me as a great shop to be in.
I think this is proof that you can have all of the best stock in the world, but you need that connection between the staff and the customers. It is like a shopping experience that isn’t altogether that exciting.
It’s fine. But bland.
