Great place to do a bit of Marks and Spencer’s shopping when in Belfast. Added bonus is two hours free shopping on the ever busy Lisburn road, so nip in do a bit of shopping and then head down the Lisburn road to check out the local shops.

What can I tell you about Marks and Sparks that you don’t already know? Well this one is a little bit different to others, It’s right next door to Poundland which I thought was a little strange but then I remembered that Old Kent Road is next to Mayfair on the Monopoly board. As the name suggests this store focusses on food and I have an insider tip that could save you a few bob. A few weeks back we went in on a Sunday evening and it was like a closing down sale, in every isle food was reduced and the store was rammed. It seems that people come here on a Sunday night to do their weekly shop while grabbing all the discounted grub. Great parking at this M&S — I noticed that one of the pics was of the old store that was on the opposite side of the road. This one is set back from the road and has loads more space than the old shop. If I could give 3.5 stars I would!

I am a big fan of M&S food and so regularly frequent these simply food outlets. This one is a has a few things going for it that makes it slightly better. It has ample parking out the front which is handy when you are in a hurry. It is also one of the larger simply food establishments I have been in and seems to be kept very well stocked, sometimes when you go to M&S for lunch after about 1pm there is very little to choose from. It has self-service tills, I like these the last thing I want to be doing on my lunch break is making small talk about the weather. I would definitely recommend this over the Boucher Road which often sells out of ‘food on the move’ and is a total nightmare to park at.
