I’ve only had food from Manny’s once and it certainly hasn’t encouraged me to do so again. The only positive was that they deliver. We ordered chicken goujons, chips and sides of curry and gravy. Despite being only a mile away, it took over an hour to arrive and when it did, it wasn’t worth the wait. Both the chips and goujons were soggy, the sauces were bland.

Great wee chippy on the Antrim Road. There’s walkers and brights on the same road but this is by far the best for value and service!

Used to be brilliant back in the day but has gone down hill. I’d sooner go hungry than eat out of there anymore.

Used to be lovely and a real place to go in north Belfast but it now pre-cooks everything to get people out the door quickly and the quality has really really dropped.

Just got a quick dinner in here, used to use them all the time years ago, hadn’t been back in years. Doesn’t seem as good as it used to tbh, chips were pretty disappointing, fish had a powerful taste to it, was a little weird. Don’t know I’ll go back again, but then, I’ve had worse!

Love Manny’s, not sure it’s because of my childhood memories or not. But I have not had a bad meal from it, and also the new one in Glengormley. Service is usually done by someone friendly, portions are good, and so are the prices. It’s a chippy, enjoy it.

Manny’s on the Antrim Road has been around for years. I can remember as a child walking down to Manny’s with my mum during the summer holidays, getting a chip slathered in red sauce and eating it out of the paper in the waterworks with my fingers. This nostalgia has been ruined since Manny’s introduced a till a few years ago. Since it has been brought in, the days of getting a load of free chips with your pastie are gone. And in fact, the days of getting a decent pastie seem to be gone now too — when I went here recently my pastie was soggy and quite probably undercooked. Albeit, it was only £1.30, which is about a third of the price of a pint so it’s hard to complain too much. I would recommend their fish and chips, but the place distinctly lacks the friendly touch it used to have.

It’s a thumbs up from me for this reliable little take-away in North Belfast. They serve standard fare of fish n chips, sausages, pies etc etc and have a reputation for their tasty and quality food. They seem to have a lot of loyal local customers, which is always a good sign. If you fancy a nice warming bag of chips on one of these cold evenings, Mannys is definitely worth checking out.

Love this chippy… been going here for years. Superb sausage supper and pasties that will have you coming back week after week. They are great for lunch time as well… heres a little money saver tip… if you order a portion of something on its own… for example sausages or a fish they will give you lots of chips with it free… so for a lunch its perfect

As far as chippies go, Mannys is a good one. I mean, you can’t really have good food from a deep fat fryer, but this place does a good job nonetheless. I can’t really add much to what other reviewers have said about Mannys, except to say that their potato scallops are hands down, bar-none, the best in Belfast. And you can quote me on that.

When I lived in North Belfast, Mannys was like my second home — no kidding here — I usually have my Taco chips from Manny’s once or twice a week. The chips there are SO good there are times when I dream about eating their chips :-( When I fly into Belfast, I try and find an excuse to go up Antrim Road so I can get their chips! :D even the staff there recognises me after a year away! :O They rocks and the chips is the best in Belfast!

Oh Yum! Manny’s! I don’t half miss this chippy! I went to school around these parts and after school or at lunch time we would often nip down here for a sneaky chip after school. It’s famous in its own right, having won a number of awards and it’s really an institution around these parts having supplied every family up and down the Antrim Road with their Friday tea for the past millennia! I called in a few days ago when I was passing, just for old times sake, and yum, it is still as good as ever. I couldn’t even finish it all, the portions are so big, but I should have remembered this and realised my eyes were a lot bigger than my poor wee fish filled belly! Long live Manny’s! You do us proud!

Oh, dearest darling Manny’s, what on earth would the hungry crowds North Belfast do without you? You are quite simply an institution and a blessing. With your lightning quick service, your regular, dependable opening hours, and your mammoth, mammoth portions of golden chips, heaped up high, with a crispy battered fish, flaky on the inside and hot and delicious. They come in their numbers, queued out the door sometimes, to get your gorgeous food — and you never fail to disappoint. I cannot say a bad word about you, you are, and always will be, the best chippy in that part of town, and you will be serving the masses of the Antrim Road for a long time to come, I sincerely hope.

I absolutely detest the food from this joint. Like the other reviewers, this place has been on the Antrim Road for as long as I can remember. The only reason it’s still in business is because people in North Belfast are so God damn used to it. There was a time when it served good food; around 10 – 12 years ago, it changed food suppliers and since then it has no longer had the same high standards for good grub. Disappointing.

This place is probably the reason I will be enjoying my 30th birthday in hospital. If ever I’m to lazy to cook food(which is often), I go here. The food is not the best to say the least. It’s just a huge selection of things that can be fried and wow to they like to fry it for a long, long time. Their chips also form this magical cake like thing once wrapped up due to their sheer greasiness but I still like it. I must sub-consciously hate myself. The one merit for the place is that it is cheap, very cheap. A sausage with chips is only 80p so it is thrifty. The staff all seem to know each other quite well and always seem to be having a good time whilst at work. The shop itself is always busy at dinner times but they manage to work through the crowds quite quickly. Quite possibly because they fry everything right in advance, confident of a busy night ahead.
