Far and away the best barbers in town. Staff are friendy and know their customers, and how to cut hair. Always get a hot face towel, eye brow trim and head massage too. You can try a range of different hair products for free, while having a beer and watching a film. They have a phone app allowing you to book 24⁄7 which also awards points for every pound you spend!

I’ve been going here for over 2 years. Never had a bad haircut. Friendly staff and proper coffee. What more can you ask for when getting a haircut.

This was my first visit to Jason Shankey Hair Salon and I can definitely say it will not be my last! My stylist(Caroline) was so friendly and bubbly, not to mention she was unbelievably talented. She listened and gave advice and I really was delighted with the style that she suggested. The salon itself is beautiful, luxurious and chic with a relaxed atmosphere. The prices are standard for a hairdressing salon located on the Lisburn Road however with a conditioning treatment, head massage and freezing cold West Coast Cooler waiting on you afterwards you really can’t complain. I did notice that you could also have a gel manicure whilst waiting on your colour to develop for only £14 — which is a real treat! This really is a fabulous hair salon and I cannot recommend it enough!

Staff slightly rude and arrogant, had too many awkward situations go on here so be forgotten about, in particular a hairdresser sniffing my hair and asking me «is that nice n’ easy?». Really rough with haircuts and always return any gift vouchers for here to avoid the scalp abuse.

Now I like a good hair cut. I need something to frame the unbelievably box like head I like to carry around and a bad do can make me look ridiculous for quite a long time. So I decided to call in here for something a little more top end. These guys got it off to as flying start by placing a beer in my hand whilst I wait. It might have been 12:30 on a Tuesday but I’ll not say no to a beer. Maybe their plan was to get me drunk and thus not mind what they did to the north side of my bake! They really were fantastic guys and really did exactly what I wanted. For the first time in a long I left a hair dressers without wanting to kill the person! Win!

Jason Shankey’s was the first make grooming establishment in Belfast and is still very popular with the meterosexuals of the city. It’s also a men’s hairstylist which runs brilliantly by having both a walk in and an appointment service. I take my young sons there for a ‘trendy’ haircut and am always delighted with the results. One has shot spiky hair and one has longer ‘surf dude’ hair and they both love having their hair done at Shankey’s as it’s ‘totally cool’. I meanwhile read the glossies and enjoy a complimentary cup of tea so everyone’s happy. We go after school and while the walk in service is very popular, we never have to wait longer than a four year old’s attention span can cope with. There is a flat screen TV in the corner which always has some bizarre extreme sport programme on, toys for very little children and even a fridge full of Budweiser! Never have been brave enough to ask for one yet! The staff are always great with the kids and treat them like adults which of course they love. And the lolly at the end goes down well too. It’s Upstairs is where the grooming goes on. There’s a full range of treatments on offer, including facials and massages but my husband is addicted to the reflexology. He claims to suffer from executive stress and he does work long hours and let me spend most of his money so once a month I book him in for a one hour £35 treatment which he loves. What a good wife I am.
