Firstly let me just say — everyone back up your computers now! Obviously, like an idiot I didn’t, and my poor ageing laptop decided to die, holding years and years of music on it, possibly never to be seen again.
On the off chance I popped in here to see if there was any hope, and lo and behold there was! The guy behind the counter was really understanding of my lack of technical knowledge and said he would have a look and see what could be done. He said it might take a couple of days and there were no promises. Within 24 hours they called to say they had saved loads off my antique laptop onto pen drives and they were ready for collection. They didn’t charge the earth either, and would highly recommend them for anyone as useless as me, who is now the queen of back-​ups.
