I haven’t brought anything here of much importance or value, so I can’t complain in terms of service, like some other reviews. When moving places, I dragged all my big things here(duvet etc) for their ever needed scrub down(gah, I sound like a filthy bugger!). It cost around £6 pound to get cleaned, which was ok I thought. I was massive afterall. Seeing as there was no big red wine stain on its front, I can’t assess how thorough they were. It smelt nice and for my non exacting standards that was good enough!

Back in the good(bad) old days before we had our own washing facility the trawl down to the Globe on Botanic was a much dreaded experience. Lugging those sports bags full of dirty clothes was a painful task and it was always a relief when a few friends would pool together and do a communal wash. Recently I had a lot of washing which I needed done in a hurry with only a limited time to do it. I also had about another 15 errands to run so I lucked out on the idea of a service wash from The Globe. Never having had the pleasure before the friendly lady talked me through the pricing which was based on the weight of the unwashed clothes and told me as I was in before noon the laundry would be ready for a pick-up sometime after 4pm. Result! Tasks in town done I headed back around 4:30 and the bag was all ready and waiting for me. In total(with the drying etc) it cost me all in £12:60 for a sizeable bag of stuff(I think it weighed in around 18lbs) and the clothes were pretty much dry and folded up nicely. Nothing seemed to have shrunken either which was one of my biggest fears. I’d recommend this place. Pros: Clean, fast, helpful staff. Cons: Pricey enough, you wouldn’t want to be doing this every week.
