Ok so Clements at the SU is ok for a quick take away coffee but it wouldn’t be my first choice of venue in the area. The coffee tends to be average, and in true Clements style isn’t served hot like I like it.(I find with all Clements you have you ask for your drinks to be extra hot, to get them that way. Someone told me this was a ploy they use to get people in and out the door quickly to free up more seats and keep the flow, but not sure if its true or not) I’d give this more stars if the staff were a little faster and a little less concerned with talking to each other instead of serving their customers. The coffee is average, the service is average, overall you can get a better coffee in any number of venues just a short walk away. The convenience and closeness is the only thing that keeps me coming back but I wouldn’t choose this venue for a sit down coffee in my free time. With a little work it could be a great venue, just at the minute the whole thing seems lacking and half hearted.

Good coffee shop and pleasant staff. Given this Clements is in Queen’s University Students Union it can be very, very busy and thus I’ve found I’ve had a bit of a wait sometimes. However the coffees good and sandwiches, bagels and salads are very good. Just not a place to pop into if you’re in a rush…

Clement’s is generally a safe bet when it comes to coffee /tea etc., and I have to say, I’m a bit of a fan, my favourite branch of this local coffee chain being the Botanic one(which is quite possibly why it has *so* many reviews). In response to the SU version of Clements, I must say, it’s a bit of a letdown. Firstly, it’s teeny. Queens’ SU is meant to provide service for somewhere in the region of 20,000 students, yet all they get is a pokey little coffee shop that NEVER has any seats. I think I’ve been lucky enough to find a seat on three occasions the entire time I was at Queen’, which is a bit ridiculous. Secondly, any coffee shop with mirrors along one of the walls, and tables placed directly in front of them, deserves to be… well, I’ll stop there. It annoys the life out of me! I understand that they are there to give the illusion of more space, but when you’re seated in front of it, it’s incredibly distracting. And I don’t particularly like admiring myself eat. Thirdly, I’m a bit confused as to the opening hours. The Queens’ website states that it’s open from 8am until 10:30 from Monday to Friday, and maybe things have changed in the last few months, but I never saw it open until 10:30pm, ever. Botanic Clements it is then…

Yet another branch of the successful chain of coffee shops and this one isn’t much different to the rest. The main difference is that because it’s physically located in University property, the café is even more studenty than the rest! It actually has quite a nice atmosphere. I found that it tends to be full of students reading or lecturers grabbing a quick coffee in between lectures, so it’s very chilled out. It’s also one of the bigger branches, so there’s more chance of finding a seat easily. The main drawback is that it doesn’t stay open as late, so don’t be expecting to call in for a cup of tea at 9pm.
