I admit pottery isn’t one of my stronger areas of knowledge. I remember doing some for GCSE art back in the day and don’t recall it going to well. Clay Crafts is a little stall towards the rear of the market, seemingly intentionally located beside businesses with a similar focus towards arts and crafts. I had been looking for something kitchen related for my mum for her birthday, that has long since passed and I can’t remember what I got her now. Anyways, walking past and snapping this little stall I thought there might be a possible future present lurking in there somewhere. Most of the items on offer bear a similar style. Terracotta based clay with a heavy white glaze on top. They are actually very similar to something we have back home. I saw a little milk jug poking it’s head out among the sugar bowls, chalices and other little dainty containers. The range in attractive. I can see someone with a reasonable attention to detail and suitable bank balance kitting their home out with these matching pottery items. I didn’t buy the jug in the end, to be honest it was a bit of a passing interest and was a bit pricey. That said, they are very nice pieces, well made and could be worth something someday if they become more popular.
