This is great bar /restaurant close to the city centre with some pretty impressive décor. I’ve eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. The upstairs restaurant does beat the clock 7 days a week so the value is excellent. Sunday afternoons are great, the carvery is amazing and there’s a live band that comes on around 3(try not to sit too close if you can help it, they are very load!) All their cocktails are £2.95 after 4pm, 7 nights a week so it’s a great place to start your night out.(It can get a little hectic at the weekend after about 8 so I usually like to move on by then but there are loads of other bars close by)

An institution in Belfast. Food is always to the same standard, good hearty food for a decent price. We always try to make it for the beat the clock option. Great idea, the time you order is the price you pay. Love their mussels to start, good size portion and served with a delicious white wine and creamy sauce with garlic dipping bread. Always go for a steak but recently tried the lamb and it was devine. Cooked just right. Staff are always friendly and a great drinks menu compliments the large food menu. My only criticism would be the cheesy dance music they play downstairs filters up to the restaurant sometimes, but this is only minor. All around a great weekend spot for a good feed.

I’ve eaten in Benedicts numerous times over the years and never been disappointed. I should have done a review long ago. That the restaurant is always packed speaks volumes to its quality. The deal for boxing day was fantastic — 3 courses for £18.95 and just 3 quid supplement for steak. My mum and I opted for steak while my partner loves traditional Turkey and ham. Service was fast, staff very friendly and attentive though run off their feet and every course was beautiful. A bottle of rose wine was an excellent price for a hotel as were mugs of coffee. … not those little cups that you need 3 of. Our whole bill was £85.35 for 3 courses for 3 people, 2 pints, 2 coffees and a bottle of wine. The price included two steak supplements. Really good value, couldn’t be faulted. We were lucky to get a table in its own little section so we weren’t too close to other tables. Staff truly earned their money. I’d say Benedicts will see us every boxing day from here on

Love this place. Best the clock menu is superb, great variety and the time you order is the price you pay. Food is always fresh and perfectly cooked and presented and half price cocktails before 10 pm to wash it all down!

Been to this restaurant twice now, the beat the clock is a major plus i must say. The servers are what you would expect in Belfast. The restaurant itself can be very busy as its very familiar to the more local folks. I liked the food on both occasions and wouldn’t have a bad thing to say but at the same time I dont have anything to rant about either. The meals are worth it if you decide to do the beat the clock but if you don’t u may not get your moneys worth.

Food was fantastic. Been a few times and I have never left dissapointed. If you go on a weekday before 7 then it’s beat the clock, I would recommend the bendicts chicken supreme, it’s amazing! All in, for 2 dinners and 4 pints it came to £36.00 which I found very cheap, this included a side of chips. I’m returning back to benidicts tge next time I fancy a dinner night out!

I’ve ate here a handful of times… and although my comments about the restaurant will be good… it is imperative to know that the bar downstairs and function rooms vastly impact the dining experience. The food itself is very good! It comes out promptly and doesn’t disappoint in price or taste. The servers are good, though if you find yourself at the mercy of a young newbie you could wait a while to actually order. That being said… it can be extremely busy… and loud! The rooms to the side for private parties can be quite boisterous, and the bar downstairs is very popular… so if you feel like going downstairs for a drink after dinner?.. Then you may as well eat at lunchtime… because it’ll be packed! Overall…it had a good vibe, you can have a good night out, but you should be prepared to go early

I’ve a real love/hate for Benedicts. The restaurant I love, the bar I hate! Today we went for a family lunch, 7 adults, 2 kids and 1 baby and Benedicts cater for all. Crayons and colouring books for the kids, high chairs for the baby. Menu — on Sunday they do a fantastic 3 course set menu for £14.99 and the food is really good and plentiful. I’ve put up a photo of their Sunday menu. The service is always friendly and courteous and surprisingly quick considering how busy they are; and they are always busy! We also had some wine and cocktails, all very nice and reasonably priced. If you’re from Belfast, I’m sure know of Belfast but if not, I’d certainly recommend this place for dinner, but maybe go for a few after dinner drinks across the street in Woodworkers/Lavery’s.

I’ve eaten dinner a few times in Benedicts and enjoyed it every time. One time we ordered from a set menu that included three tasty courses. You can get this set menu at a cheaper price on a Thursday evening. The restaurant also offers a ‘Beat the Clock’ deal where the price of certain dishes is based on what time you come in at. So, if you order at 5:30pm the meal is £5.50, at 6pm it’s £6.00, and so on. Great if you’re eating early, we like it for when we’re heading to the cinema afterwards. There is a good variety of food and anything I’ve had has been nice. The desserts are lovely too. Sometimes there are offers at lunch time, such as free soup with a main meal. They also have a carvery which I hope to try sometime soon.

I got an obscene amount of food for a fair price at Benedicts when I went for their carvery. The soup was tasty, the quality of the carvery was average, but the service was great and the atmosphere really nice.

We went looking for a nice dinner out on our last evening in Belfast. We wanted somewhere around our hotel and this was one of the options. Like: Our meal in general. Our server was wonderful, friendly and informative with our questions. She made great requests as well. Food was filling and plentiful, the champ on the side was served in a huge dish. Dislike: Getting a seat was a bit confusing. They don’t serve food on the main floor and none of the employees felt like telling us that. We had to discover the staircase on our own and understand it required us going up to the actual dining room. If I come to Belfast again, I would eat here. This is a great affordable option for a nice dinner out with good service, good food and a pleasant atmosphere.

This restaurant is a great value for its price. Service was good, taste of good was unique and great. I’d say it’s a fine lunch spot or good for dinner on a budget.

Benedicts is a classy hotel/bar/restaurant on the heart of Bradbury Place and Shaftsbury Square and I always though it looked a bit upmarket for me until I seen they had an offer on called ‘beat the clock’, its an ingenious idea where from 5−7pm your food is priced at the time you order, so it you order at 6, your meal is £6. Its a really great idea and the food is good for the price being paid. I got the burger and chips and it was really filling and the portion was great for what you were paying. The interior is really classy and the clientele do seem to be slightly older but I would definatly be back to beat the clock again.

We only came in here for the food because they have a «beat-the-clock» type thing where you pay the same price as what the time is. I know this is an advertising gimmick but I am a student and if I think I am getting some sort of offer, then I’m going to get it, even if it is nappies. The food, despite the«beat-the-clock» generation game style ordering system, was ultimately poor. For such a classy, well positioned place, the food is really poor. My chicken goujons tasted as good as you could get from a takeaway but for less than £6 perhaps you aren’t getting as much of a bargain as you would think. The place in itself is very nice. It has a much older, non-student crowd and we were well out of place by being there. There seems to be a bit of a dress code but luckily we were in the process of going out so we had got our gladrags on. For some people(older people) Benedicts would be worth a shout but chances are I probably won’t be back.

Any place with a Beat-The-Clock policy is always going to be a winner for me, but I never really find myself going to Benedicts. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice enough, and I’ve never had a bad experience in there. I think it’s just a little forgettable. It might just be that the crowd that tends to go there isn’t really my cup of tea, so I wouldn’t go for drinks. By all means, though, try the restaurant. The food’s good, the service is faultless, and if you go in at the right time, it’ll be a hell of a bargain!

Benedicts is a pub/restaurant situated in the busy Bradbury Place. It is home to the famous ‘beat the clock’ menu between 5pm and 7pm. This involves your meal costing the same as the time on the clock. So you turn up at 5.00pm then your meal costs 5pounds. The food is good as well. It is mainly pub grub, so you will find the usual suspects on the menu like burger and chips, sirloin steak and a few hot pots and stews etc. But it is all cooked to a good standard and considering the price on ‘beat the clock’ you can really find yourself a bargain. I have never been into the bar itself. It looks to be busy enough during the nights for the older punters who are still enjoying a good night out. The décor is nice, with a lot of wooden beams and dark wooden tables, so overall it’s a nice and cozy place to eat.

This restaurant was our family’s special occasion destination(poetic Unilocaling since 2010) for a long time. So my memories of this place are always good ones. Be it relatives from far away on a visit or a birthday it has always been for good reasons that we’d go to Benedicts. When I was younger I got the same chicken dish every time and didn’t particularly care about it, I was to young to. So when we went recently it was an opportunity to give my matured and well ages taste buds a second helping. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they still had their quirky meal pricing system(the later you eat, the more you pay) and the décor had remained the same. The food was nice, I ordered a steak which, sadly was not cooked to the way I wanted it but I’m not the guy to complain in restaurants. It was still nice regardless. The waiters were nice and approachable(which would have made complaining about my steak easier if I had have done so!)

This is another one of the boutique hotels in Belfast’s city centre, and of course having lived here, I’ve never staying in the hotel as a proper guest, but I having recently eaten in the restaurant here, I had to review it for that reason at least. We came here at 5.30pm for a quick dinner before heading to the cinema to see the long awaited sequel to «Sex and the City», and we felt some spoiling was necessary. We ordered our food and had some cocktails, and the experience was generally okay. Not the best meal I’ve ever had, but reasonable. Although I would have said the cocktails weren’t well mixed, and were far too strong — although one of my friends preferred it that way! I had the Thai Vegetable Curry with Naan bread, and it was really nice, another pal had the Grilled Salmon, and she loved it, so the food couldn’t be faulted. The service was good too — the waiter really friendly and obliging — and we got our food served and finished in enough time for the cinema, so there were smiles all round.
