I usually loathe massages because they are never as I imagine. However, Sinead, was my masseuse and she provided the massage I have always hoped for. It was not too hard, not too soft and very relaxing to the point that I almost drooled. The facilities are lovely and if I didn’t live so far away, I would go more often!

The Aura Day Spa is one of Belfast(and possibly Northern Ireland’s!) most popular and well known spas. Aura is upmarket and contemporary, and once you are inside their doors, you feel like you are a million miles away from rainy Belfast. Upon arrival, you complete a detailed consultation so both yourself and your therapist are in a full understanding of what you want from your consultation. You are then provided with a robe to change into, and there is a selection of drinks and fruit available. I had the Enrich body treatment(which I was given a voucher for as a gift) and was fully talked through the process by my therapist. The treatment lasted for around an hour and a half and was truly out of this world! They do a wide range of other treatments for men and women, so everyone will be able to find something they will love from their treatment menu. I cannot recommend this spa highly enough, if I could afford it I would go once a week!

Pure Luxury here girls! I was given a gift voucher as a birthday pressie and wasted no time getting myself down here. The spa is beautiful and I swear, just walking into the place makes you feel more relaxed! I opted for the de stress back therapy(massage) which was £49.95 for 50 Min’s of pure bliss! The gel they use is really amazing stuff and I could quite happily have stayed here all day long! Thee offer a whole range of things such as facials, massage, pedicures, make up, tanning and stuff just for guys too! The prices are pretty good and about average for this sort of thing and as its a day spa you could actually spend the whole day here! Ahhh, just imagine…

I don’t normally spoil myself with stuff like this, but after a particularly stressful term in work, and upon the occasion of my ‘besty’ coming home from Bristol for a long weekend, we both decided to head here for a girls day out, and had a facial treatment here before heading out for some lunch and retail therapy — what could be better? And I have to say, the facial was really a fabulous treat — I just went for«The Essential Facial», as they have lots of choice(some really expensive) but I just wanted a straightforward facial that would do the job — also, I was on a budget and this one cost £40. We both agreed it really was worth the cost, and we came out floating and our faces shiny and glowing — well red and tingly — but in a nice way. Will definitely go back again when I need to relax.

Wowee baby! For me, there are salons for everyday maintenance treatments which stop me looking actually scary(we’re talking taming the monobrow and filing down the trotters) and then there are spas like Aura. Aura is one of the most luxe spas I have been to and I loved every minute of it. I had booked a Luxury Spa Pedicure which turned out to be 45 minutes and £40 pounds worth of heaven on earth. Even though I was there for a relatively short treatment(you can spend the whole day there, what bliss), I was shown to the very swish changing room and invited to put on one of those thick perfectly white bath robes that people embarrass themselves by stealing from five star hotels. I was then shown to the pedicure chair which was attached to a footbath which had, I kid you not, flowers floating in it. I then spent 10 minutes with my feet in delish smelling hot water, flicking through celeb mags and generally congratulating myself on my good fortune. Next my feet were anointed with some very expensive lotion and then my nails were filed and polished to perfection. I had somewhere else to be afterwards but had I had time I could have spent as long a s I wanted in the lounge area sipping tea or fruit juice and reading more glossies. Aura is not a cheap place to while away the hours but boy is it worth it. They do gift vouchers so start perfecting the art of dropping hints!
