Why the little, tiny street of Church Lane has managed to hold on to so many random independent shops is beyond me. All around it, modern chain stores are springing open, but it’s holding its own. Anderson’s Opticians is one of those shops. All the big chain stores are within two minutes walk of its door, yet it stays open. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I always find myself in these places looking for bargains, due to my sometimes expensive hobby of replacing my glasses way to often. It’s a little on the pricey side and a lot of the frames they had in stock were really quite dated, which again makes me wonder how its surviving. But it is and fair play to the owners for sticking on. I couldn’t find anything I liked, but the staff tried their hardest to help me find something of interest.
