The best restaurant in Beckenham and Bromley by a country mile — food is always of a high standard and reasonably priced with a useful wine list too. Their steak in particular is the best I’ve tasted outside Hawksmoor and Gaucho. The only downside is the narrow bar next door is completely rammed on popular nights with an exuberant young clientele so there is nowhere to grab a casual drink if your table is not ready.

Probably the best restaurant in Beckenham. French owners and excellent food. Very professional and the food is very fresh.

Came here for Christmas Lunch with some local family friends, and this review is based on the set menu they offered to us for that occasion. Located in Beckenham, this restaurant is one a of a string of food and drink locales in the immediate area, a surprisingly dense amount for a suburb, and a nice, quaint part of town. We were a group of six, which prompted the restaurant to offer us the special menu. The catch was, we either all have to order it, or none of us gets it. This ‘collective punishment’ is not something I was used to – before I moved to Britain, that is – but we ended up browbeating any doubters and all going for the special menu. .And in the end we weren’t disappointed. The set menu was definitely not French, although it had some French influence; instead, it can be described as modern British fare, and it was shockingly good. There was the usual array of lamb and chicken dishes for this Christmas menu, but I opted for the salmon, which was grilled/baked precisely to the temperature to make it just the right moisture and texture. It came with a gratin(done properly) and some vegetables, and all of it disappeared quickly. Having sampled some of other people’s dishes, I can say that the restaurant managed to put a lot of effort and detail into everything we were served. On that day, I can confidently say that if you flipped a coin and took one of their starter or main options at random, you would have been pleased. The service was also friendly, attentive, and our waitress sometimes hung around to chat briefly here and there or to laugh a bit with us, but without being overbearing. Basically, our experience was that this is what a Christmas lunch experience should be. I’d complain about the collective punishment aspect of the Christmas lunch menu(the whole table gets it or no one does), but — well, in Rome(or England) … This place is half-bar/pub, half-restaurant(separated by a big wall and doors luckily). I’m told the bar part gets busy.

A local yet lively«Frenchy» restaurant — with a nice wine list. Went there with a couple of my friends who live close by for a three course meal(shrimp ‘orgy’, beef fillet & crème brûlée — and a nice bottle of Chambertin) very attentive staff, delicious food but perhaps a but loud. All right pricing all things considered. Definitely a place to recommend for a un-posh night out where you desire a nicely meal.

Great atmosphere with noisy, lively bar next door for pre or post dinner drink. Good food, mid price although seafood can be expensive depending on season. Recommend booking at weekend as gets v. busy. Service can sometimes be erratic, although usually friendly.
