This pub is small and is a full house if there is a soccer or rugby game on, but the atmosphere is friendly, welcoming and happy. They have a backyard patio with tables and it’s nice to come out for a pint or two. They also have guinness here on draft, if you’re a fan!

Lovely pub. Only place in Beckenham where you might believe your in Devon.

Went here and had the«special». Worst food I’ve had in Britain. The pork chop was dry as chalk, roast potatoes looked like charcoal and the gravy was just sad. Thought this would be a quaint little pub as it is away from the main street… nope. Waste of money. Rubbish food. Crap beer. Nice staff, but doesn’t make up for the rest. Skip it.

Feted by the CAMRA crowd, the Jolly Woodman is a perfectly acceptable pub in a town light on them. This is the sort of place which on other sites, you see high ratings. However, it caters to the crowd that frequent it, who don’t mind going out through a rear courtyard to go to the loo, which is freezing in winter, and who don’t mind paying the extra money for the only decent cask ale in Beckenham, They like the 80s-esque feel, they like the size of it. It’s clearly a pub where they have a regulars, they know exactly what they want and give it to them in spades. As such, you give them a 3 stars out of respect. They don’t get the other two because it’s not my kinda place.

This is quite a cute little local pub up a side road; the sort you wouldn’t know of if you didn’t live nearby. It almost has a villagey feel to it; you walk in the front door and you’re already at the bar with the locals giving you the once over. That said, the landlord and staff are really friendly and do make you feel at home. They serve a good range of bitters and the back garden, where the outside loos are found, is mercifully partially covered. One for holeing up in with some mates for the best part of a saturday afternoon.

Very quaint as it’s in a local conservation area. An electic array of customers as well, all of which you’ll get to know because the place is so small! Very Victorian — ust don’t go there when it’s NYE or Christmas Eve because it’s packed! Landlord, strangely, doesn’t like new customers.
