Me and my friend were out in Norwich UK vacationing when we taken To this small quaint little restaurant in a town called Beccles. I ordered the salmon risotto and it was the best that I’ve ever had in the world. friendly and cordial staff who are attentive to your needs and the chef came out and thanked us for coming. Next time I’m in England I will be going back 5stars

After reading the previous reviews I was expecting an experience to meet my expectations. What a disappointment, admittedly it was January, midweek and early evening but I would have expected to dine in warmth. We had to keep our overcoats on, but take our gloves off to handle the cutlery. We decided to have just a main course so we could get home and warm up. The start of was an example of how the rest of the evening went, after ordering our meals, we were asked if we would like olives, I asked how they were prepared, i.e. marinated — what selection etc., and was told«just out of a jar». The Italian beer was good, but the food was middle of the road, and we had problems deciding what the ‘meat’ was in the lasagne. We did not stop for a pudding or coffee as we decided to have something at home and warm up. It will probably mean it is not worth a second visit to the restaurant for us.

This is one of those places to go when you can’t be bothered to cook. As long as The Boss isn’t there it’s fine. Once he arrives he becomes far more important than the customers and is rather intimidating. The place is a bit clique-y and I don’t eat there often enough to join! The food is middling to good(depending on who is cooking) but is expensive for what it is. There are nicer, friendlier places in Beccles. Try the Bear and Bells!

Pizza and pasta dishes elevated way beyond the ordinary by the use of quality ingredients, care in preparation and, above all, the extraordinary presence of the owner Luigi. Every cover was taken and the place was buzzing at 7.30 on the Friday evening — people were even drinking wine at a makeshift table out on the street; this in sleepy Suffolk — when we dined there recently, but the atmosphere went up another 20 degrees when the owner made his entrance. Excellent value and well worth driving out of the way for, should you be in that neck of the woods.
