I’ve been to a lot of Yo! Sushi’s over the years, and had started to go off them — preferring small independent Japanese restaurants, or even the sushi in Wasabi and Itsu. However, I was really impressed by the quality of food and the range of foods available on my most recent visit. This is possibly the first chain Japanese restaurant that I’ve come across in the UK that offers takoyaki(deep-fried octopus balls, which incidentally were really very good!). Due to having a money off voucher, we were able to order many items from the a la carte menu(which was good, given the time of day we went, there wasn’t a huge amount on the conveyor belt) — I really loved the specials that were on offer: beef katsu(deep fried beef cutlets), scallop katsu(same but with scallop!) and the sashimi tasted really fresh. Even the chicken gyoza has improved from the last time I tried. The desserts were amazing — green tea ice cream mochi, and regular chocolate mochi. The staff were very attentive — extremely helpful(despite our numerous requests to add to our order). Food arrived hot and fresh, and this visit really did help stave off my withdrawal symptoms from my last holiday in Japan!

Tuesday lunchtime in Bath. after a morning wandering round with two friends staying with us, we arrived at about 1.00pm. Waitress very helpful and efficient despite it being pretty busy. Food superb, took some from the conveyor and ordered some hot choices. Teriyaki chicken tender and so flavoursome, spicy chicken salad excellent. Good bottle of sauvignon blanc too. Regarding the previous reviewer’s comments, fizzy or still mineral water is £1.05 for unlimited fill ups, I don’t think that is bad.

Even though it is a chain, nice to see a sushi restaurant in Bath. .finally. My experience wasn’t that great, ordered some hot stuff and only part of it turned up. I know it’s company policy but charging for water is disgraceful too.
