We had lunch here right after arriving in the UK from the USA, so we were a bit fatigued from the plane/train/etc. Yak Yeti Yak made for a delightful introduction to Bath! My wife and I split two items from the Lunch Menu, Chow Chow Non-Vegetarian(chicken) and Dal Bhat Mugling. The chow chow is a fairly standard egg noodle dish with veggies and chicken, but nicely flavored and enticing. The Dal Bhat is the vegetable curry of the day(something like black-eyed peas if I remember right) and is served with yellow lentils and basmati. Our seven year old son had dumplings as his meal. The chow chow was good, but the dal Bhat was very nice and our favorite of the two — clean fresh flavors in the curry that contrasted nicely with the dal. In our graduate school days, we used to frequent a Tibetan restaurant that was owned by the Dalai Lama’s brother, and this was up there with that in quality.

Really good tasty food at a reasonable price. Went with a few of my friends and there were plenty of options to satisfy everyone. Also a great place if you like Asian food and a bit of spice with your meals.

Exceptional. Walked off the street into what felt like a different country. The restaurant smelled of incense, the plates were metal and the food was wonderful. Very clean throughout and my beer glass was perfect(clean glass required to make the Everest Golden taste its best). Would recommend.

I went there back in August when in Europe and while a few of the dishes on the menu claimed to be «authentic» Nepalese didn’t match up with our own experience(we are all Nepalese immigrants living in the UK and USA respectively), the food was great overall and I would definitely eat there again.

I was first a fan of the name, and then I became a fan of the food. Hubs and I had a short autumn day trip in Bath and wanted something warm, comforting, but not too heavy, which the Yak Yeti Yak’s menu seemed very well suited for. The restaurant is very cosy and had a nice atmosphere. We chose to sit on the floor just for fun, but I imagine not everyone would like to sit cross-legged on the floor to eat! For us it was great, though. Anyway, we both ordered from the set lunch menu — hubs got the chicken and potato curry, and I got the veg curry. Each also came with basmati rice and an orange daal. The food was aromatic, wonderfully spiced, and fresh. It was just what we needed after a few days of heavy eating! I would have loved to try their other dishes, but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to visit Bath again. Still, I’m really glad we stopped by and would definitely recommend the lunch to others in the area looking for a nice curry.

I had never had Nepalese food before coming here and I thought what a nice change of pace. My husband and I ordered 4 dishes and each of them was delicious. Would eat here again and again, wish I could take them back to the US with me!

So I’ll admit it. I came here because I love the name of the place, but the reviews rated it among the best restaurants in Bath too so I’d be a fool to skip it. I was a bit anxious seeing the photos that we’d have to sit on the floor. I only had tight jeans and I didn’t like the prospect of unbuttoning them when I inevitably ate too much food. I breathed a sigh of relief when we entered and saw both low tables with cushions and high tables with chairs. The food was good. I didn’t have many expectations but the menu helpfully suggested how many dishes to order. I found it flavoursome and the sauces were not as thick as those I have at Bangladeshi restaurants. I’d definitely go back if I was visiting Bath again.

It’s common for people to frequent London for good Indian food. However, one doesn’t go out of their way to head to Bath, England for Nepalese. Well, YOUSHOULD! This place was one of our options for eating late on a Monday night in June, and we are so glad we chose to go in. The drinks were delish, the décor was authentic and welcoming. And the food, ahhhhh, the food… They were the right portions, the right spices, great quality of ingredients. We were silent the whole meal except for a few grunts and mmmmm’s. And it was a very affordable meal. We will be talking about it whenever anyone asks about our honeymoon trip in Europe. This was a memory and a place we’ll return to. Cheers!

Read all the great reviews and perhaps had high expectations but the food really was just ok. Had chicken chili, chicken yak yeti yak, and a pork dish. Don’t enjoy pork with gristle and fat left on and both chicken dishes were good but underwhelming. Wouldn’t recommend.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Even though we had to wait over 30 minutes to get a table it was totally worth the wait. The owner and staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! We ordered about 6 main dishes and 2 appetizers and it more than fed the 4 of us. Great way to end our day in Bath!

Our favourite place to eat! Everything is gorgeous and full of flavour without being spicy. So many different things to try that I have never tried before. And it all looks naughty whilst being healthy!

Went here due to interesting reviews on Unilocal. The Staff were courteous, polite and very helpful. The atmosphere and ambiance was very pleasant and indeed gave a feeling of being in Nepal. I expected the food to be tastier/spicier than it was… But my wife and our two friends absolutely loved it! Great place to go for a different night out in Bath. We started at Circo Bar just over the road and finished at Oca just round the corner. A really lovely evening!

We stumbled across this place while driving into Bath, and I knew it had to be good: yak in the name, hand-scribbled sign outside, basement location? It just set off my food-dar as a place that was either going to be an utter disaster or utterly fabulous. And boy, was it ever fabulous! We ordered what was probably too much food(according to our server!) and ate every last bit of it. Everything tasted fresh and was made to order. Drinks were delicious, especially off the seasonal menu. Highly recommended.

Yak Yeti Yak. Yak Yeti Awesome!!! I just had a meal here and can’t say enough good things about it. We walked in to a friendly greeting from the staff, who were lovely, fast and attentive all night. Starters consisted of shared plates of vegetable and pork Momo’s. Taste sensation! My partner said it was the best she had tasted outside of Nepal, and she has eaten a fair few in her time. Mains came and they were an epic mix of subtle spices and flavours. I ordered the special(the name of which escapes me) which consisted of chicken pieces, nigella seeds, spices, onions and tomatoes. My partner choose Yak Yeti Chicken which was a similar mix of simple flavours and spices, but with a masala type gravy. We also ordered the Nepalese special rice. And very special it was. I would go as far as to say it was my favourite part of the meal. All the food was served in authentic Nepalese plates and vessels, and the surroundings were a little slice if Nepal itself, with prayer blankets and Nepalese ornaments adorning the walls and ceiling. I walked out of here very satisfied and will definitely be going back the next time I’m in Bath. A well deserved five stars.

I’ve been on the hunt for an authentic mo mo since visiting Nepal a few years ago. These guys have perfected it. Both the pork and vegetable choice were amazing — as was the dipping sauce! I loved their signature chicken dish with the accompanying Nepalese fried rice. Don’t expect the fiery spices of neighbouring India — embrace the subtle depth of these simple dishes. It’s almost enough enough to make me want to move to Bath. Almost.

Had one meal in bath. Made it this one based on great Unilocal reviews. I was disappointed. The food had no kick. The meat was dry. The prices were high. Interesting dishes and Good service gives it one extra star. But if you’re in town for only a short while of suggest you choose somewhere else.

We had dinner here tonight and loved it. The spices were just right, artfully blended. The rice was perfect, as was the yellow Dahl and the spinach. And the food was not too oily as Indian food sometimes is. I would highly recommend this to everyone. The staff are very nice as well.

I learned a valuable lesson about Nepalese food: DON’T EATTHEGREENBEANS! Why, you ask? BECAUSETHEYARENOTGREENBEANS! They are insanely hot peppers that will burn your face off! Unless of course you’re into that sorta thing, then by all means, eat the green beans and enjoy :) Aside from the pepper debacle, I shared an excellent meal here with a friend. We thought we were getting Indian food, as Unilocal has this place listed as Indian, but when we got there, it was clearly something different. And in a very, very good way. The food was outstanding! The portion size was not too big, not too small. If you’re really hungry, get some lentils or veggies on the side or maybe an app. The orange lentils were excellent! I had the Chicken Chilli which was delicious, but seriously watch out for those green peppers. I don’t think they are meant to be eaten. Our waitress was kind enough to run and get me a little bowl of yogurt to put out the fire in my mouth. Dessert, a coconut rice pudding, was also fabulous! I shared it with my friend, but we definitely could have each finished our own. On another note, the ambiance of this place is warm and peaceful. You walk down the steps into the lower level of the building and upon entering, you are enveloped in the spicy scented air. There is some traditional floor seating in the back, but also plenty of tables. Ornate wood carved frames and Eastern dolls decorate the room. Music plays softly in the background. It’s really a full sensory experience! My one and only issue with this place was that it took a very long time to have our order taken and nobody ever came to give us our bill. We had to go to the front to get it. All in all, this is a top notch and affordable choice in Bath.

Why, WHY have I never eaten Nepalese before *bangs head against desk*?! Went to this restaurant on a visit to Bath with a friend on recommendations from fellow Unilocalers and both of us were blown away by the amazing flavours of the various dishes placed before us. We both ordered the set menu(meat for me, vegetarian for my friend), which comprised daal, chutney, spiced chickpeas, yoghurt sace, rice and a main(meat/veggie). We were also served popadums and chutney as a starter. My main was pork keema, which was a right flavourfest with plenty of fresh dill(which gives you a gold star in my book). My friend had an equally delicious cauliflower stew of sorts, and we both marvelled at the amount of flavour packed in the chickpea dish. The bill for two beers, two mains, popadums and chutney came to such a ludicrously low amount that we both laughed out loud(admittedly, we are both Norwegians who have lived in the UK, so we are used to a higher price level back home, but the prices at Yak Yeti Yak are very reasonable). Upon paying, we were both extremely well fed, so no critique on portion sizes, either! The only downside was the Nepalese beer, which had a metallic, flat taste, but this can hardly be blamed on the restaurant ;) If you find yourself in Bath, I implore you to go!

Food was good here. The entrée portion isn’t big but it was a perfect size for me. Pork dumpling — good Yak Yeti Yak chicken — good Chickpeas & potatoe — good
