Hmm, this place freaks me out a little bit. It’s full of really useless tack at extortionate prices because it’s seen as quirky or something. There’s so many Penguin-emblazoned goods here that it really demeans the fine reputation that company has for producing cheap paperback copies of the classics for the masses to consume — having so many useless items with their name all over them makes me think they’re just in it for the money, rather than enhancing the world with the finest literature man has ever produced. Not my bag, I suppose.

This is one of my favourite shops in Bath. Quirky, kooky with unique; it’s everything a perfect gift shop should be. This tiny store is one of two Bloomsbury shops in Bath — the other one, on Quiet Street, specialises in Jewellery. You may find it difficult to navigate yourself around in this shop(ladies with oversized bags — you have been warned!) as most of the products are stacked on top of the other on a central wooden table. Here you’ll find, diaries, note books, lip balms, books and mugs — to name just a few of their products! But my favourite thing about Bloomsbury is their beautiful wrapping paper which can turn a pair of boring socks into an ideal gift.(I highly recommend their old-style London Underground wrapping paper). The women who work here are scatty, unfriendly and unhelpful which is so disappointing because otherwise I’d have given Bloomsbury five stars!

This is a gorgeous little shop in the heart of Bath at the bottom of Milsom Street. It sells all kinds of gift ideas from pictures and jewellery to books and girlie gardening equipment. They have a great range of different items such as retro telephones and unique deckchairs all crammed into a lovely little space. The café upstairs gets very busy at lunchtime so you might have a wait but it’s worth it, vegetarian bites such as panini’s and sandwiches, soup and salads. Also, they do coffees, milkshakes and smoothies and the cake selection is mouth watering!!! Definitely a place to visit when wandering through the streets of Bath.

This is a nice little quirky gift shop and very ‘Bath’. It has a good range of thoughtful gifts to suit most people, good quality items that are unusual. In particular there is a nice collection of jewellery, prints, Tin Tin items — oh, too much to list! It is a great place to browse when you have a gift buy, but is a small shop and packed with objet, so it can be difficult to get around if the shop is busy. I should also mention café Metro upstairs, which is the perfect place to people watch, over a nice coffee!
