Dexters Bar & Grill

Ive been here twice. Both times had nothing good to say apart from the food was nice, and it was clean.
on entering you come to a sudden halt, due to a please wait here to be seated. They wernt kidding about waiting.
First time was about 5 mins, thats 5 mins of being completly ignored by the staff, while the barman looked bored and the place was quite quiet, on approching the staff a cold and unfriendly grunt told us to keep waiting.
The second time around the place was a bit busier but lots of free tables. Despite this the wait sign was once again correct. About 10 mins.
Eventually you get seated, (the second time after a 10 min were be right with you wait at the sign, it was sit where ever you want) you notice that they seam to have gone out and paid a designer to make seats look nice but to be hard and unpleasant.
Service here on both trips was slow, and although friendly, was found to be just so dam annoying. Taken a leaf too many out of the Americans be over the top service manual.
On the first trip here, about an hour before they were due to close, they came around us, mid meal clattering and banging and moving tables and chairs (in a bid one assumes to get the staff out early).
This was really off putting, and after a long wait, rubbish chairs, and annoying staff tempers were starting to get fraid.
Food wise, its quite nice, but typical chain food. No personality or individuality to it. You know that the food here will taste identical to every one of these chains.

Reasonable food in a casual atmosphere, Dexters is a popular choice with the family. They had a good focus on keeping the kids entertained (pictures, crayons provided) and providing healthy choices i. e not just nuggets and chips. Service was swift, courteous and had just the right approach to checking for feedback. For a quality chain offering consistent food we found the prices reasonable. Only criticism we had was that the seating is too hard. Don’t appreciate the ‘Macdonalds’ approach to encouraging people to move on. hardly likely for shoppers or cinema goers stopping for a bite before /​afterwards.

The service and atmosphere in this restaurant I found poor; often left waiting at the bar for a table, despite the restaurant not appearing particularly busy. It is also often very noisy here.
The food is reasonable for the price, but I ordered a burger ‘well done’ only to find it was at best ‘medium rare’, which suggested that they weren’t too bothered about a high level of customer service.

This place is very good, the burgers are the best here and the prices are not bad either.

American style food that is really tasty.
Near to the cinema so handy for a meal before or after, the burgers are excellent as are the puddings and cocktails.
There is also a bar if you just want to pop in for a drink.
