A lovely place to go if you enjoy going for peaceful walks on your own, with your family or with a four-legged companion, although it’s very easy to get lost if you don’t know your way around as it’s not very well sign-posted. It’s great for wildlife watching as they have a few bird hides(sometimes used by BBC’s Springwatch) and you can see all sorts of creatures if you’re lucky. If you don’t go on the right day then sometimes not everything’s open so if you’re going for a specific reason check their website first. Many, many years ago I stayed here with a group of Girl Guides and they loved the place, although they got scared by the stories of ghosts and haunted cottages!

I love wat Tyler Park. I used to go there often when I was small and even now I’m an adult it’s still a nice place to go. There’s more than enough to have a really big picnic with plenty of room to play games and not interfere with anyone else’s picnic. There’s plenty of places to buy an ice cream or something more substantial and the prices are reasonable. There’s also some very nice little craft shops and galleries. There’s alsoa boat museum which is worth a visit!

A great place to fo for a free day out. Take a picinic and then all you need to buy is an ice-cream. My 7 year olds love the park lots of equipment to go on set over a couple of smaller parks for younger or older children. When the weather is hot or school holidays can get very busy so may need to queue to have a go of the more popular things. Ice-cream sheds around back where to you take a stroll. Free parking.

I love this place. My parents used to take me here as a toddler and then i as i got a little older i would go here on bike rides with my friends. It is a large wild life park and shops, play areas, and a museum of boats. It also has a little railway system that takes you around and through the park on a little tour. There isn’t much more i can say just see for yourself.

This is a lovely open space just outside Basildon. There are acres of grassland, ideal for summer picnics. The play areas are excellent with huge wooden structures and activities for children to climb on and explore. The most recent addition are the Sonic Marshmallows, these are located opposite each other accross a pond, if one person stands in front of each and whispers the sound can be heard 60 metres accross the pond in between. There is a village green which has been created by taking two grade 11 listed cottages from other locations and rearranging them along with a further cottage around a grassed area. There is a sculpture trail that uses art made by local artists and shools and a motorboat museum. It is a lovely place to spend for a family day out.
