Let me start by saying that this shop has a brilliant range of products! However, the aisles are VERY slim and as it is always busy, it becomes incredibally cramped. The tills are situated at the front of the store and have long slow queues and it makes it difficult to get out of the shop even if you are not purchasing anything. The place is unkempt most of the time. Although staff work hard to keep it tidy, often there are a lot of empty gaps where the products haven’t been refilled and when I’ve asked for a product they have it outback! The prices in w h smith are undoubtedly expensive. However it always seems to have what you’re looking for so I suppose it’s worth the money if you really need it. I would reccomend it if you’re looking for something particular but I wouldn’t reccomend it entirely as a general shop. The best feature is most likely the deals on some books. Not the best of deals but occasionally there are a few great deals. Water stones is the best place to go. W h smith would be my second choice.

I find the shop very untidy, dated and off-puting. They must rely on their tobacco sales … I can never find the magazines I am looking for. Also don’t attempt to go there with a pushchair or if you are big, especially in the magazine area. There are always queues at the till and staff is incredibly slow(especially with card payments) even when the queue is huge(and that doesn’t stop them to try to sell you their short-dated chocolates, or tell you about offers etc.). I don’t bother anymore and get my magazines in Asda, for books I go on Amazon.

As you’d expect this Smiths sells books, stationery, cards and snacks. Located on the Town Square this shop can get rather busy and the till staff aren’t ever in a rush. Prices are reasonable, but compared to Woolworths a few doors down things can seem a bit pricey.

a good selection of books, magazines and stationary, but it can be hard to find what you want sometimes. staf are welcoming, friendly and helpful, and well presented too. they are happy to find stock for you or help with any queries you have. quite a large store with some good offers at times, but can be a bit pricey.

Very good choice of books and other items such as writing equipment and stationery. Books are usually up top date and if not found can be ordered for you to be collected from store when they have arrived. Staff are helpful and friendly and offers are very good value for money. The end of year and summer sales are well worth a look as the reductions are massive!
