I am a Barton resident so id heard many good reviews about the coffee and food to be had at the Rookery café. So my wife and my daughter and myself and my grandson headed in full of expectation today the 12/12/2014. We ordered Panini’s for the ladies and a fresh cut sandwich for myself, the Panini’s where up to scratch and the sandwich was dry and tasteless even after ordering some mayo it was simply a bad sandwich made with dry old bread and the coffee was no more than warm milk with no coffee flavour and considering the high end price we were charged it only served to anger us more and being ripped off and taken for mugs, they will not get us back in there again as it takes itself for granted and to hell with what real people think about the atrocious food we were served, they wont get a good word from me or my family

Part of the old historic ropery building. This end is used mostly as an arts center. Films/gigs/plays etc. Well worth a visit if there’s something on you are interested in.

The ropewalk is slightly hidden away just east of the Humber Bridge in Barton-upon-Humber. The building itself is very interesting having once been part of a rope making factory in the 1800’s. The entrance has a small reception area where there is always someone at the desk happy to help, and a small area selling hamdmade jewellery, ceramics, paintings and cards. There is a gallery space to the left as you go in and another space as you go through the main doors to the right. It also has a great film night showing a wide variety of contemporary cinema, and it also hosts live music and comedy events. There is also a nice, cosy café which serves homemade food and cakes. It also has a good range of organic fairtrade drinks and juices.
