Delicious hot chocolate and cappucino. Had a toasted sarnie and that was nice. Very busy, so hard to find somewhere to sit and quite loud with all the kids in there. Lovely for families but for those with no children, you may come away wanting some peace and quiet. So far we’ve not found a better place in Barnstaple.

This is a rather unique coffee shop that’s serves mostly healthy food and a huge selection of teas, coffees and smoothies. Most of it is priced very reasonably, though there are some meals that I feel are a tad overpriced for their portions. I’m not surprised that it has been recognized in an Independent article on the top 50 coffee shops in the UK. The only drawback was the amount of mothers(and therefore kids) that the place seems to attract.

Lovely fair trade coffee and decent food at a reasonable price in a comfortable café. I have to say that I’ve had a couple of poor coffees at one of the other Boston Tea Party cafés, but the Barnstaple crew know how to make great coffee every time, and have a friendly bunch of baristas. Their menu offers a nice range of food that’s always been fresh and tasty. Most of their menu seems to be sourced within the West Country, and they use free range eggs, organic milk, organic meats… On the whole, they’re a great independent chain of cafés.
