Walkabout Inn

I have visited Barnsley’s Walkabout a few times at various days of the week. I mainly went there as they carry an Aussie beer brand that I like (Little Creatures). It is a very large place with a casual feel. Pool tables tucked into one corner, a large dance floor, DJ booth and some tables and chairs. On 2 occasions I was there and it was not busy at all (a Sunday night and Australia Day 26January). On both occasions I ordered my beer and food. The food was typical pub food and was served at the correct temperature and was served within a reasonable time. The staff was friendly and even recognized me. The last time I was there was on a Saturday night. It was about ¹⁄₃ full (between 9pm & 10pm or so). Music playing and people mingling. Service for drinks was quick but it emptied out rather quickly after that. Seems to be a place where people start and go elsewhere for the night. It appears to the trend in that area as there are late night clubs a couple blocks away.
I found this to be an average pub/​bar with friendly servers and a beer l like.

nice pub with decent music. drinks are reasonably priced. all in all a good night out.

part of the Australian chain. large area. great for a dace, good atmoshere. plays anything from 80’s-00’s. particualy good if you’re partial to a bit of build me up buttercup, living on a prayer! tends to be somewhere people end their night. expect to que around the corner for this one on a saturday.
