Came here as it’s the local and we’re visiting in town. We were expecting more of a traditional pub but this is split into a bar and nice restaurant which we weren’t prepared for. The atmosphere suggested higher end food and the prices did as well. Unfortunately it just isn’t worth it as the food was mediocre and I ordered a side of veggies that were all deep fried. The service was great but I’d come here for a good pint and skip dinner.

Nice location, upmarket village style pub. Blacksheep beer very good, and clean spacious interior. If I order brie and cranberry sandwich and am told it will be 45 minutes as the kitchen is busy fine, but after 50 minutes I have to chase and when it arrives it is missing the cranberry that’s not good. When I queried this the Barman looked at me as if I was going to start taking hostages. Chips and salad ok but can’t go too wrong with this. Staff are orange and look like they just fell off a Hollyoaks set on crack. Nice place for a pint, thats about all.

We went to the spencers arms to celebrate my sisters 18th. 9 of us went in total. Wr started the night with drinks at the bar before been shown toour table. The dining area was huge. we all got something different and got loads of veg for down the middle for us all to dip in. everything arrived in good time and all at once. The evening was a great success, and one member of staff even stopped to take a picture of us all, even though the y were really busy. A fantastic night and we will be sure to visit there again some time soon.

Nice and quiet, the food was ok but there’s not much choice on the menu. Bit expensive for what you get.

I visited this quaint little pub with my elderly Mum — she wanted ‘somewhere nice’ for a Sunday lunch, and I had heard good things about this place. It is like a tardis; it looks little and quaint from the front — a typical little village pub, but drive into the car park and the whole thing changes — large car park to the rear, absolutely huge conservatory! The main restaurant is in this conservatory — probably around the size of my ground floor at home, and is the white tablecloth and linen napkin set up — as we hadn’t booked, and the place was packed, the manager, seeing my mum, found us a table in the bar area, and personally brought us drinks and a menu — now, my mum is registered blind, and the manager stood and read the menu to her, discussing her options — top notch service. We had the soup, which was a thick vegetable broth, served with hot white rolls and butter; Sunday lunch turned out to be baked Sea Bass and Grilled Salmon in a white wine sauce, served with fresh vegetables on the side — superbly cooked, rapidly delivered and including half a lager shandy fo Mum and a pineapple and lemonade for me came to an astounding £22.00. The waiting staff had obviously been appraised by the manager of my mum’s sight problem, and they placed things within reach, guiding her to condiments, cutlery and the position of her drink; I was VERY impressed and we will definately be going back. 5 stars have been given because the food was beautifully cooked and presented, the service was I believe above and beyond what one could reasonably expect from a very busy team, coping with a packed establishment, at very short notice — in fact they can have 10 stars for the service and understanding they offered.
