When a death occurs in the family, you want to be able to respect the wishes of your loved one & to grieve in your own way. Take my advice go anywhere but the Crematorium in Bangor, Gwynedd. Red Tape –Ridiculous Legislation etc you’ll find it all here. Not that I blame the Crematorium in full I think that Gwynedd County Council are also at major fault but the attitude of the Crematorium is that you do things their way or go elsewhere. From not allowing the deceased to be cremated in their own clothes(you can do this in many, many other places but in Gwynedd you have to dress the deceased in an ugly taffeta! gown!), the instruction that ‘yes, you can play your own music but it has to be on an original CD, not MP3, iPhone or other media(get with the 21st century for hecks sake) to ‘No, you may not bring a dog in’ Dogs are part of our family too. I have found this whole process made unnecessary more difficult by these ‘jobs worth’ bureaucrats. I will NEVER subject another member of my family to this kind of disrespect. In hind sight I should have told them to get lost & go elsewhere but at the time you are not thinking straight & just tend to ‘go with it’. They take advantage of grief in a major way and then overcharge for the privilege.
