I don’t know who you last reviewer was but I can honestly say this is the BEST pub I have visited ever. For quality local food at seriously cheap prices and served by the most friendly staff I have come across. Nothing was too much trouble for them, the chips are unbelievable fresh home made and never seen a freezer in their life — so unusual these day’s. I would recommend the daily specials Pork belly was amazing and the Cod was huge with crisp batter and real mushy peas. My friend had mushroom stroganoff with a rich creamy sauce and fresh herbs, made especially for her as a veggie special. They lit the log fire just for us, the atmosphere was fantastic with a gorgeous bottle of Fleurie our log fire and delicious home cooked food we were in heaven and so relaxed. The only thing they didn’t have was a bed for us to stay over, however they booked us into a nearby hotel and we returned for lunch the next day which was just as wonderful.
