This hotel is terrible. I stayed there with my daughters and asked for rooms in close proximity and was told that we were on separate floors because each floor has only one type of bed i.e. The first floor has only twin beds on it, the second floor has only double beds on it, which is ridiculous. There is no bellman in sight most of the time and the floors are split level so there are steps that you have to deal with. There is no breakfast of any kind. The heat in the rooms doesn’t work. I fell down the stairs which was witnessed by the room service guy that I flagged down to help me with my luggage, and it went completely unrecognized. Additionally when we ordered room service it took forever to arrive and ironically the room service guy only was able to deliver 2 out of 3 meals because he fell down the stairs and dropped one of the meals.

This is a review about the FOODONLY not the hotel or anything else! Went here twice for birthdays during the day on Saturday and Sunday(so lunch menu). The prawn noodle salad is not a salad it’s just cold noodles and massive peel-yourself prawns. The noodles were dry, looked old, and absolutely tasteless. Prawns were plain as well and just so tasteless. Would never get that again!!! Others with us said the chips weren’t nice either, just greased up completely. On the other hand the sweet potato fries are delicious; the caprese salad or the one with the tomatoes and mozzarella was delicious; the fish and chips dish was great(once again not the chips though) but the burger was mediocre. So if you want, the Windmill down the road has much better food. The garden and outside terrace are really nice and their bloody mary was delicious! I am sure the hotel itself and the spa are great so definitely give them a go! Oh and the area where it’s located is fantastic as well!

Totally into this place! Me and my bf went there for spa(we didn’t stay in the hotel). It was very cool, not too many people, but they got sauna rooms, swim pool. More like a private club. Defo will go there again;)

I arrived here with around 100 colleagues for a global kickoff meeting. The hotel was very well organized in terms of providing transportation from Heathrow(around a 20 minute drive). They had even arranged about a dozen pick-ups for various groups from around the world. Once at the hotel(which is in the London exurbs of Ascot — a great area), check-in was easy and without any hassles. The front desk staff was exceedingly polite and helpful — not just for me, but for many other colleagues, with different accents and needs. This hotel has provenance — a history — and a rather colorful one at that. For one, it is haunted — presumably by the ghost of Eliza Kleininger, who died there in a fire in 1886. Unfortunately, I did not see her. Here’s a good reference of the hotel and haunting: It should be noted that the hotel staff is well acquainted with Eliza and does a great job with their haunted notoriety. The lobby area is quite comfortable with an abundance of proper Victorian English, wingback chairs centered around several conversation areas. Both the bar(pub called the Diadem Bar) and the Hyperion restaurant are very accessible from this area. There is of course, a nice massive fireplace to anchor the space. My room was a hike down a long hall(this hotel is larger than it first appears), up a few stairs, then down again. It was spacious, comfortable, with a bathroom sporting both a large bathtub and a separate shower with a heated towel rack. There was also a minibar. I could not get the hotel WiFi in the room and the Ethernet connection would not work either. I did not pursue either, as we were well connected in the meeting areas and lobby. The room also provided a nice blow dryer, an iron and ironing board, as well as a garment presser. I should also note that my room was very, very quiet– read: well built. Could not hear a peep from the hallway or rooms around me. Not even a ghost! The meeting facilities were top-notch. Our main room was spacious, with large tables to seat 10 – 12 each and over 100 people can be easily accommodated. All tables were kept up with fresh water and glasses. The audio-visual capabilities were flawless and the staff was always present, should a minor problem occur. We also had to do an early evening conference call, which the hotel also accommodated with a small meeting room and speaker phone. All of our meals were served in, or catered by, the on-site Hyperion restaurant. From breakfast to dinner, the selections were excellent and quite good — much better than many hotels’ corporate event catering. Most meals were served buffet style, with varying choices to accommodate an international group such as ours. But many of the dishes were standout, traditional English fare that I quite enjoyed. The English breakfast was one I didn’t miss for the three mornings I was there. The chefs also prepared some variations of traditions such as Shepard’s Pie with sausage links. Solid 4-stars alone for the food! As our group was one to enjoy spirits, I think the on-site pub did a magnificent job in dealing with a diverse drinking mob of Irish, English, French, Italian, American, Aussie, Kiwi, African, Korean, Chinese, Malaysian, Filipino, Spanish, Mexican to name a few — especially on Wednesday night before and after our more formal awards dinner(which included a wonderful roaring-20’s themed murder mystery, played by local actors). I especially enjoyed several of their Scotch offerings! The dinner service was impeccable, as was the food. Coffee was always offered and the wine pairings and choices were always top shelf. Overall, for a corporate event, this hotel knows how to accommodate. I was very pleased.

I was only here for a conference so cant comment on the rooms(or the Spa unfortunately!!!) Overall it seems to be well kept, a nice mix of well maintained old and very modern new buildings… or bits of the same building! Catering was pretty good!
