Dr Challoner’s Grammar School

This is quite simply one of the best state schools for boys in the country .It has an impessive academic record and now that my son is at the school, I see also a wonderful bias towards encouraging the boys to think for themselves rather than learn a list of facts to be regurgitated at exam time. We are finding the homework quite onerous after a day at school and I know that it will get worse rather than better.
Places are highly sought after and the year before 11 plus is a stressful time for all families. You can heave a sigh of relief when your son gets in and you know that he will have many years ahead of him in a caring, challenging, fun and forward thinking school. My son has settled in well and made friends. That’s all I can ask for!
