Having not had a Thai meal for over two years (far too long, I know), the meal at the Blue Orchid was a treat for my taste buds. I went with a large group of people, and we ordered the ‘set meals’ so we could share the various dishes. In typical Asian style, the customer service did not disappoint — the waiters and waitresses were consistently polite and efficient. The food was nicely displayed on the dishes and tasted equally good.
The restaurant is furnished in a traditional Thai style, which all adds to the experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends.

Went here when we first moved to Amersham and have been many times since (though just for takeaway). It is situated at the quieter end of Sycamore Road and you can usually park outside on the road or failing that there is a car park behind Iceland. The décor is decoratively Thai and comfortable. The service is attentive and friendly. The first time we went we had the mixed starters, beef massaman curry, roast pork in honey and soy, a seasonal vegetable dish and some rice. The starters were the same as any other Thai I’ve had, nice but nothing special. The mains, however, were just delicious. Lovely tender beef in the massamun curry and tasty flavours in the roast pork dish. It was quite expensive though — £50 for two with only a bottle of water to drink. Like I said, we’ve been many times since but just for takeaway where we don’t pig out as much which makes the cost much more reasonable.
