Mediocre flat white. Not bad but not the best i’ve had. The slice of coffee cake which I had was a little dry and on the expensive side — £2.50 for a small slither is a little steep in my opinion. Maybe caught them on a bad day?

Nice little café at the perfect location when needing a place to hang out by the train station, with a notable bicycle theme. It was peaceful and relaxed with some mellow French chanson music playing… perhaps a nod to the Tour de France? The lemon drizzle cake was so moist and zingy, I come close to asking what their secret is. Flat white also very pleasant, I noticed they do a range of sandwiches etc so I’ll come back another time for lunch.

Located immediately next to one of the access points for Altrincham Metrolink, this contemporary café(and soon-to-be-open basement cycle shop) is a relaxing spot to enjoy a drink and a snack. Alongside a wide range of teas from Canton Tea, they have the usual offerings of coffees and hot chocolate(not a coffee fan so didn’t look at what types they had!). They also sell amazing cakes from Tokyo patisserie Sweet Octopus( ) — their green tea roll is light and delicious and has to be tried. The owners are warm and welcoming and appear to be particularly passionate about their new venture. Apart from a few objects and artwork of a cycling nature, from the outside you wouldn’t immediately guess that it was associated with the sport, but I’m sure that will change once the shop is up and running. If you’re weary from the tram ride and don’t want to immediately venture into Alty town centre, then this place is terrific to recharge your battery. Tip: They’re a dog-friendly café so feel free to bring your pampered pooches along too.
