This is a busy store situated in the town centre, and it is altogether much better that the M&S in Sale. Its easy to amble around for ages inside. Staff are chatty and eager to help. It’s a much bigger store too with a great range of products, including a very good food hall and a cosy café nestled on the first floor. The café has lots of leatherette arm chairs to relax. There was a good crowd queueing up at the café and as I’ve previously observed, the majority of the customers here are retirement age, at least. I joined the queue to get my flat white — which was very good and an Eccles cake, which is simply the best cake they have on sale and at a mere £1.50. The café staff work very hard at keeping the café area, its tables and floors, clean and they are usually quick to clear leftovers from the tables. Another nice touch is that ice cold water is on tap with slices of lemon, for customers to serve themselves.
